The general internet concensus a month ago was an update was due today,

ive waited paitently with the hope of resolving some of the issues/bugs that the phone has,

but it apears there is no release yet.............

Mr Nokia, when will the update be available for the Lumia 800?

The "general internet consensus" were taking that date as fact based on a rumour. Nokia rarely give specific dates so it is a case of waiting for the zune release at the moment.

What is fact is that the new firmware is on Nokia's servers, it's been there a for a few days now. Some Nokia care points can upgrade you to the latest firmware now if you call in. That being the case it shouldn't be too long before the update is on Microsofts servers for updating using Zune. It could even happen today but no one can say for sure.

it just as i said "general consensus" when other sites have been sugesting it. ive been longing for this day as i frequent to london and havent since i got the phone and im off there tomorrow and was hopeing for the extra 15% battery increase (did the maths to work out that the 200mAh missing would equate to this) would last me the day.

however for the moment i had purchased an energiser XP2000 which does work pretty damn well for the money.

It will be interesting to see the effect that this update has in general. I've been quite fortunate with mine as the battery can often charge up to 1400mAh, only 50 short of it's stated capacity. Occasionally though it can only manage just over 1300mAh.

Some that have had the update via a care point (or other methods we aren't allowed to discuss here) have said it does charge to at least the stated 1450, some as high as 1520.

What other updates will be on the update, is there a list any where?

My battery life is pretty good since the update in December, in fact it now lasts longer than my HTC Desire would !

mines showing up at full charge of 1300mAh and shows a max of 1512mAh (variable between charges)

i have the keyboard issue now and again but in all fairness firstly i cant moan after getting the phone free from nokia "the amazing collective" and upgarding from a 6700s

Mines an amazing collective one too, was planning on buying one but fortunately late November they contacted me and saved me £400.

how you getting on with the missions and app? mines utter failure, im up there with the medals allright but i didnt do the first to missions the dead mau5 and the christmas decorations,

and then the app went kaput and havent been able to do any since 40 winks im currently 3rd but i very much doubt ill be going anywhere further seeing as i cant do any of the new missions, 

quite annoying really. as the amazing collective team seem to take an age to reply to facebook comments and emails.

The app and scoring system have been a bit screwy, looks like they readjusted them yesterday. It was letting some people enter closed challenges or enter some twice. Also looked like silver medals medals weren't worth much.

I've dropped from 3rd or 4th back to 16th, it's all a bit of fun really so not too bothered.

Also had the issue where it wouldn't give me a new challenge, had to remove the app and reinstall to get the Elvis one.

I'm happy with the Lumia 800, lovely phone that suits me well, barely touched my N9 since getting the Lumia.

As i type this post, my Lumia 800 is upgrading to WP Update 7.10.8107.79.
Not sure of the impacts but i really hope an issue i have with security certificates is solved. Also, i hope something is done with audio quality.

My Lumia 800 just got the update, currently updating now. Does this update include 8107? Or is it just a Nokia firmware tweak?

Keep Us posted Aadicool. Did you find any difference in Audio Quality ?

The main fix for 8107 is the keyboard disappear glitch, along with a handful of maintenance type fixes.

It does include the 8107 update. Glad this actually appeared today, hope future date predictions on the internet turn out to be true.

I haven't updated yet, but can onyone confirm or deny that 3g on/off switcher is missing in this new f/w?
I just read it on other forum. and i refuse to believe this..

updated mine earlier which is also from the amazing collective. noticed that since the update my soft keys no longer light up except briefly when i lock the phone.

Ok... So i updated successfully... No noticable audio quality improvement. Even today, my 3 yr old BB8230 sounds way way better.
@orka, they have tweaked the UI. So u get a drop down menu which allow you to choose the highest connection speed i.e.'E' or '3G' and the switch for data connection is there as it was before.
Also, my soft key are working fine. They light up the way they used to i.e. whenever the screen is on.

I'll try and charge the phone to full and see if it reaches its max capacity of ~1480mAh

Well psychomania I updated and I'm still on 7740. This update did NOT change the Windows Phone OS build.

You are right... Also this happens only for high and medium brightness levels. If you select low and disable auto brightness then it works fine.

P.S. now that i have listened to 3-4 songs, i can say that the volume level seems to have increased n bass slightly better. But still its no where near to an ipod or iphone.
