Hi Yvonne...
Let me share my experience... I do a lot of Conf Calls (my Black Lumia 800 is paired with Nokia J headset) and noticed that after exact half an hour of initiating the call, the Phone reboots... So I wondered about the "half an hour" frequency...
A few days later I noticed that I have configured my mailboxes to sync every half an hour. I then increased the sync frequency to 1 hour... Guess what ! The reboots started happening after one hour in the call. I have now set the sync frequency to manual and so far have not faced any reboot issues.
A bit of an info about my Lumia 800 setup:
1. Country: India
2. Operator: AirTel
3. Mode: 2G with Data Connection and Roam ON
4. No APN added as of now, coz I am always near a WiFi Spot.
5. Earlier Reboots were NOT in Every Call.. It was like two or three times out of my daily 6-7 call schedule...
6. During the Reboot, I am NOT connected to my WiFi and as I said earlier, I have not configured my APN in Cellular Settings. So, it seems that in my case, Lumia reboots when the auto sync kicks-in and could not find an active Data Connection..
Hope I helped... Thanks.
EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot, I have my Primary Hotmail Account, A Facebook Account and a Gmail Account Setup in my Device....

Hi Yvonne,
Answers to your questions:
1) Country&City: London, UK (bought Lumia 800 in early Jan 2012).
2) Operator: Three Mobile.
Same issues with random reboots and also clicking on mail just after the phone has restarted also causes the same behaviour

Phone rebooted twice on Giffgaff & Tesco networks (PAYG SIM).
Coupled with the complete inability to end a call (try and touch the 'end call' button and the phone hangs, still counting the time up, but the call is dropped, then after several minutes the phone crashes & reboots), and this phone is nothing but a paper weight.
I hope Nokia are taking all these battery life issues, crashes & endless bugs & short-comings to heart. There is increasingly large number of less than happy customers...

Work in London
Live in Bristol (problem occurs in both locations)
Network - Vodafone
additional info:
monitored and as yet unable to establish any apparent trigger for the boot down, potential causes as posted by others do not apply in my case, i.e. battery has been fully charged when its happened, I've been on wifi, away from wifi etc as I say no apparent trigger.
The phone has now gone for several days without an issue

I have also been having the problem of the phone crashing/rebooting at random. This started happening after the most recent update. I restored the phone to the previous state (before the most recent update - the 2nd update) and then reinstalled the 2nd update - this did not resolve the problem. The problems seem to occur more often when I have been listening to music for about ten minutes, but at other times it is totally at random and with a full battery. I let the battery run down completely and then had a problem charging it and switching the phone on. Eventually I did get it to start charging and switched it on.
I am not only a Nokia fan, but also an employee, so I am appalled by this. I thought we had learned lessons about not rushing out updates, about fully testing software changes...but I guess not. I have really loved this phone up to the point when this problem started. If Nokia does not resolve this quickly and satisfactorily it risks undoing all the good work that this device represents, and in the process alienating a lot of customers (again).

)) and of course your location, because LONDON (on VODAFONE) is not the financial capital of the world, it is the boonies and we live in a **bleep** forest!!..
an update on my TWO phones' status = mine crashed 23 times today, and it randomly switched off for 2 hours today while my wife was tryin to get in touch with me ..
Her phone was switched off until 12 pm today after an all night charge ..
and by the way - I AM GOING TO SSSSAAAAAMMMMSSSSUUUUUNNNGGGGG!!!!!!!

Why don't you two wise guys go over to the "Software updates" section of this forum to find out more about the "random girl" ? Amazing, first endless bleating for a response from Nokia, then immediate ridicule when you get it ! How do you expect any problem to be resolved without first gathering detailed information about it ? Return your Lumias and use something else then, you are not helping anybody here.

I am on my 3rd Lumia 800 handset all have had the resetting issue since the software update from Nokia.
I am based in the UK, Farnborough in Hampshire
I am on Vodafone
The only way I have been able to make my phone usable is by setting the email updates to manual. This cuts the number of resets to approximately 5 a day! (Windows Live is still syncing every 30 minutes).
