Hi
I'm due a new phone and have been looking at the phone 4S and the Nokia Lumina 800; I REALLY want to justify the Lumina to myself and as such have done a pile of reading on both products. I am Mr Nokia through-and-through, but have noticed a few consistent 'problems' with the Lumina in the discussions I've read on the net, namely:
I'd be extremely grateful if any kind-hearted Lumina 800 owners could objectively shed any light on the above.
Thanks in advance

1) PDF files open just normally (not sure if app for this was needed, but it is free anyway). Also includes a full Office software suite for those files.. Where on earth one gets idea that PDF wouldn't be supported?
2) Bluetooth file transfers phone to phone are not possible. There is a full and fee cloud service (SkyDrive). Just upload files to the cloud from other phone and access them from the other. Or from other PC etc.etc.
3) No silent mode? What? Of course there is. Also a vibrate only mode. This is a smartphone, not a brick, and these are standard and common features on any phone. ![]()
4) There are games etc in the marketplace, http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/marketplace
5) Not a common issue I suspect.
6) Use Zune (like in apple phones you must use iTunes for this). Only Android phones support the mass storage of the "three majors" (ios/WP/android) I think. And the talk of Zune's poorness are over-exaggerated. Try it.. it's free to download.

Hi,
I 've been using the Lumia 800 for a few months now and I hope my experience so far can be of assitance to you in your decision making.
1. I use my Lumia as my work phone so I receive pdf attachments regularly. To date, I have been able to open every single pdf received. I do have Adobe Reader installed.
2. I believe the bluetooth tranfer thing is a WP issue. I have managed to work around it using Skydrive.
3. There is a setting for vibrate only. Option appears when you press either volume button.
4. Not quite like a normal pc but yes you can.
5. Never had a problem ending calls.
6. Not sure what yo mean.
