I guess I'm not alone either with this brightness issue on my Lumia 800

On automatic brightness, the screen is really dim, selecting medium or high brightness manually and the bottom keys don't light up, they are just blank.

Bottom keys only seem to be lit on low or automatic brightness.

Woops Nokia..

Edit: Some people around other sites are saying that this was intended?! Can anyone confirm this?

Something interesting I've found. Running the Lights Test (Diagnostics tool) if you manually set the Backlight intensity greater than 4 the soft keys turn off completly, which obviously shouldn't happen as they should get brighter as you cycle upwards towards 8 (The maximum).

I have the same problem, I used Medium brightness normally but the update made it go to automatic.

I changed to medium and suddenly the keys stop glowing.

They glow for a split second when you lock the phone so it seems like a glitch.

Fix please

They same problem here. For me the brightness problem is worst than the battery.

mine the same very dissapointed didn't have a battery issue but got a backlight problem.i want to love this phone but i'm struggling.
