Just upgraded to the new version and my phone does not connect to ovi suite anymore. Notebook can see it and I can access it through the notebook but ovi suite still asks for me to connect a device......

I have recently updated OVI suite to 3.0.0.29 and it cannot sign-in. I dont use a proxy and have tried connecting from both home & office. The Ovi suite presents the message that it cannot connect to the Nokia Account Server & that I should verify that I have a proper internet connection. This is even though, I could login to the website using IE8 (default browser) on my winXP SP3 laptop.
I have been able to use the previous version flawlessly.
I inteded to update the firmware on N97; however, since I could not login using OVI suite, I resorted to Ovi Software Updater. Thankfully the software updater did not ask me to sign-in & I was able to update the N97 firmware.
Nokia - do we have a solution to the sign-in issue on Ovi Suite 3.0.0.29

Hi,
This has been asked in some threads. The solution is:
This problem has to do with expired certificates that you have on your computer. We are working to get the problem fixed for the next release.
To remove the problematic certificates, do the following:
On your computer, open Control Panel and click Internet Options.
In the Internet Properties window, select the Content tab, and click Certificates.
In the Certificates window, select the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab.
To sort the certificates, click the Expiration Date column header.
Select any GTE CyberTrust certificates that have their expiration date in the past. You should be left with one GTE CyberTrust certificate that is valid.
Click Remove and, when asked for confirmation, click Yes.
After the expired certificates have been removed, please restart Nokia Ovi Suite and try signing into your Nokia account again.

Hello. Thank you for your feedback. Your solution (Delete all GTE CyberTrust certificates whose expiration date has passed) did fix my problem on Windows XP Home.

Just to update... I went back to the old pc that was having problems with sign-in with Ovi suite 3.0.0.290 even after deleting those expired GTE CyberTrust certificates.
So I uninstalled Ovi suite 3.0.0.290, rebooted, then downloaded and installed the new Ovi suite 3.1.0.84. Then I could sign-in to Ovi for the first time with that pc. So worth updating if you are having problems with Ovi suite.
