Since a long time, i used to download movies from the internet (.avi format) and sync them to my Nokia phone, the Nokia PC Suite and the Ovi Suite were doing the job well & life was good!
I upgraded to Ovi Suite v2.0.1.35
Now there is no sync video or movie option !!i only see contact + photo + messeging & music !!
What should i do?

Hi, currently you can transfer videos to device / from device in following way:
- Open My Computer
- Browse into your Nokia device, you should be able to see there both internal memory and memory card
- Copy video files in video folder
We're working on to get video transfer + video playback into upcoming Nokia Ovi Suite version. That will make transferring video files work in similar way as photos currently.
Cheers, Samuli

I was wondering as well, and I was trying for couple of days now to find a way to tranfer my videos from my Nokia N95 8Gb to the computer. FInally I found out why I couldn't do it.
Thanx.

Greeting saylinen,
Your suggestion will not work, bcz the format has to be converted for my N97 to be able to play the movie.
I have already downloaded the older version of PC suite and is using it to transfer+convert the movies to my Nokia.
Thx alot for your swift reply and attention.

Hi lowsphere, just to clarify, we plan also to support video conversion, when transferring video files from Nokia Ovi Suite to Nokia device.This way, you should be able to watch videos coming from the desktop world.
Unfortunately, as you know, there's tons of different video formats available around world and we can't support each of those easily. Would be interesting, if each of you could tell us in this thread, which are most important video file formats from your point of view.

Greetings Samuli,
Today the video formats are becoming more standards. you don't need to support all of them.
The phone it self supports alot of formats, but we needonly the standard once which we usually download the movies on.
let's start with .wmv - .avi - .mkv - .mp4

Hi there.
Why don't you just define some "open" (*shiver*?) architecture so any developer could plugin their own file conversion.
You'd then:
* become open
* be more flexible
* get help from a big developeer community
* have less development costs
* higher degree of acceptance
Think of it.

OMG... how that's possible?!
How come I can't transfer videos from my N97mini to my computer??? (using ovi suite 2.0.2.42)
I have to navigate manually through the vids folder of my phone to do so...
Please tell me that's not reality...

I installed ovi suite today and found that out just a few minutes ago.
It puzzled me, but thenwisdom struck.
Guys, this is the 21th century,
Mobile phones aren't supposed to make videos, thats why ovi suite doesn't syncronise videos.
Whats next ? Nokia removing video recording from their mobiles in the next firmware update ?

It´s happend to me too. Why???
How can I go back to the previews version?
14-Mar-2010 10:55 PM
Yeah...I know the problem.
I just downloaded the good old trusty PC Suite 7.1 again, to be able to transfer(and convert) videos.
The new Ovi Suite (2.1.1.1) is utterly useless as it is right now.

The feature is even not available in new 2.1 version.....

Hmm, I have installed Ovi Suite 2.1.1, thinking it would be more advanced than the phased out PC Suite (which is still available for download).
Lo and behold - I was wrong. No video synching.
Nokia, seriously, this is a step backward. And you wonder why you are losing market share?
Come on, pick up your game!
