Hello Everyone!
I am trying to install Nokia Ovi Suite in my Windows 7 computer from yesterday, whenever I run the web installer file I am getting the Error Message as "Problem with the installation file" (attached as a jpeg file with this post).
I have downloaded the exe file (approx 88.4MB from : http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/global/phones/
Anyone is having the solution for this problem?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Can you please check the file size on your pc after the download?
Do you have Ovi Suite already installed on your pc (earlier version)? If yes then please retry the update procedure via Ovi Suite update function.

Hi Alles,
Thank you for your reply.
I was having the PC Suite, but I have unistalled it. Also I have used PC Suite Cleaner to clean up the registry, etc., as instructed in the website. After that only I am trying to install Ovi Suite.
Yes, after downloading scucessfully "Nokia_Ovi_Suite_webinstaller_ALL.exe" is 88.4 MB.
regards,
SSA

I have the exact same problem as you. This is driving me nuts. Clearly, there are some issues with compatibility in Windows 7 64bit.

Even not working with Windows 7 32bit.
Any updates from NOKIA?

Hi,
Have you checked that the digital signature in the package is valid? You can check it by right clicking the file -> Properties -> Digital Signatures tab -> select Nokia on the list and click Details.
It should say "This digital signature is OK." If it says something else or you don't have "Digital Signatures" tab at all then there is something wrong with the package and you have to download it again.
It's also possible that there is something wrong with your local root certificates and our installer can't verify it's validity.

Hi anttih,
Thank you for the information!
Yes, the problem was in the digital certificate. I have downloaded the file again and this time certificated came out to be "valid". Also finally succeed in installation ![]()

Thank goodness for this post ! I've been trying to install Ovi since I got my C3 a week ago. I emailed support and I'm currently waiting for a Level 3 callback. I've got 4 computers ( 2 with Win 7 , 1 with Vista and 1 with XP ) and it's failed on all of them. I've downloaded from every link I can find. I checked the signature and it's not vaild. Can someone please tell me what to do ? I'm going to a neighbour this afternoon to try again. Many thanks. ( PS I've never had PC suite installed and I just did a fresh reinstallation of Win7 / 64 a week ago...)

Hi SSA
I've downloaded it so many times I nearly exceeded my download limit !
Seriously , I know others must be able to get it , so why is there a problem ? I'm going to stop at the store where I purchased the phone and get THEM to try. If the sig is OK , I'm going to copy it and bring it home , if it's NOT OK then maybe they'll take it up with Nokia as they're the ones selling it to the ' happy customers' ..? When I first contacted support , they said to disable both firewall and A/V before attempting to download it ? I've downloaded thousands of files and never had to do that ? Sure ,you might have to disable something during installation , but not for the download ? I even did it in safe mode with networking and the same thing happened. I even asked if they could send me an install CD and they said NO. Not happy about that either..We'll see what happens.. I like the phone ..I'd just like it to do what I bought it for !!

Success ! So far I've tried downloading Ovi from any ( and all ) of the Nokia sites. I Googled Ovi and found it on Softpedia. Downloaded from here and it works ( digital signature is valid ). If they're got a good version , why doesn't Nokia....????

That's Great! Finally you got the Ovi.
Yes, Nokia should address this problem.
27-Jul-2011 05:16 PM
Yes...and it seems to be fine and work OK... ? The whole reason I got the phone etc was to sync Outlook contacts. It does , but not ALL of them (??) but I found a work around that I can live with for the time being...

I've got the same problem.... doesn't work whatever i do
The digital signature is not valid as well btw
i've tried telling it to import a certificate but that doesn't work either
tried downloading from softpedia as well but they just use nokias link to download (as an external mirror) same issue
its driving me nuts
28-Jul-2011 02:48 AM
The Softpedia link was the only one that was valid for me...did you try the External Mirror link ? I nearly hosed my system trying to disable everything to get it ...and the fault is with the file itself. Still waiting for my Level 3 callback....they probably don't want to hear what i've got to say ! I must have just been lucky...downloaded again from Softpedia and it FAILED ! My next step was going to be to go back to the store and get THEM to download it. After all , they're selling this stuff...they should know what's going on....

This is driving me crazy as well....I'm trying to install it but even after importing the certificate and new and new downloads it's still not being succesful....
what were the links/proceedures that worked for you...? thanks for any hint

As I said above , every time I tried to download it from an 'authorised' Nokia site , I had the same problem. Found it on Softpedia and it worked the first time. Not sure if it's still there , but you can try ?
It seems they have a new version on Softpedia...not sure if it will work for you or not ? Sorry.. if it DOES , make sure you keep the installation file

Clearly disabling 'everything' isn't the answer ,you have to find a version that actually works

Funny that this problem is listed as "Solved" by Nokia.
I have tried EVERYTHING they suggest but still get the message "Problem with the installation file" no matter what I do.
It sucks. Really.
Especially because they put a block on the previous version not allowing you to open it without doing the update - that doesnt work.
No wonder the stocks for Nokia are plunging : )

I know, it nearly drove me CRAZY and I nearly fried my computers trying to disable 'everything' to get it to work. I have 3 computers ( Win7 , Vista , XP ) and they all did the same thing. I even tried a neighbour's computer. I asked if they could send it on CD...- NO ! The only other thing I can suggest , which was to be my next step , would be to go to the store where you bought it and ask them to download it ? If they can't , return the phone and get a refund. Having said that , the current versions seem to work OK ..for me. I wanted it to sync with Outlook contacts , and it does it OK.... Don't let them get away with it though...if it won't work , get rid of it and try something else

I just downloaded Ovi on 2 of my computers ( Win 7 and Vista ) both using IE9 and the setup ran successfully. I downloaded the file from Nokia Canada.

I would make sure you've cleared your Internet Cache / temp files. I don't know which browser you're using but maybe try another ? If you can try to download it on someone's else's computer , that might be an option.
