Hmm.. That wasn´t many features considering the time that has passed since version 2.0.
I don´t dare install this, untill I have read some reviews from users, but some questions:
-What does "new simplified navigation mean"
-Is it still a memory hawk?
-Time line view implemented?
-Can it coexist with PC-Suite?
-Can front page be configured
-Can animations on front page be disabled?

I have to agree with cafinator . I installed this update and now I can't connect my X6 at all....
Everytime Nokia release a bit of software I have problem after problem. It's just substandard rubbish. I've spent about 2 hours installing, uninstalling, reinstalling, only for this rubbish software to tell me that my phone is not connected in PC Suite mode when it is. I can search my phone under My Computer with no problems, but the new Ovi Suite refuses to see it.
Nokia- I commend you on your great ability to turn people off your phones.
**Update** Finally managed to get it sorted- uninstalled and reinstalled the USB cable drivers and can finally recognise and sync with Ovi Suite. All I'll say is- what a load of ****.

t_tenev AFAIK you cannot download the previous version, but maybe someone has this in their /temp or cache or try this link, looks like the 2.1 version:

BTW, a very dirty trick from Nokia to discontinue MapLoader and implement this in the **bleep**/buggy/bloaty/alfalike piece of J... called Ovi-suite. and in that way force us to use this application.

Oh, **bleep**.
Hmm.. You can download the old stand-alone map loader from Cnet.com. This works perfect for my N86

I have had loads of problems downloading maps using the latest version (downloaded 24-062010, don't remember version number) of ovi suite for my E55. I generally recevied timeout errors. Very very frustrating. I uninstalled it and reinstalled version 2.5.0.167 (found in my temporary files) and hey presto, it all works. Still, even if the new version worked I didn't like various aspects:
- Updating maps can only be done by letting ovi suite delete all your maps on your device then reinstall them. Not very smart, and also very time-consuming
- Individual maps or voices cannot be deleted from the device, again, just the whole lot. Argh.
Other than that, when it works I'm really quite impressed with the ovi map application and gps navigation. It works well. Perhaps time to ditch the old tomtom.

Yeah, great recommended update if it doesn't work properly. Nokia, don't you do any testing before release???

This is a load of hogwash, as it still does not sync the 2010 Beta, 2010 Trial, or 2010 Active 64bit.
COME ON NOKIA, WHAT THE HELL!!!!

I beta tested 2.2, it was really, really, bad and i was shocked too see it is dumped onto the public.
That beta was nowhere near complete, the software not even close to being ready for prime time.
Despite my strong aversion to it, the fruit phone is looking less bad with every hardware and OS refresh.

Users may experience the 'Connect via PC Suite' message when the phone is ALREADY connected via PC Suite. Very annoying and a pain to fix unless you know what the problem is . . .
In my case (Nokia E72, PC with Windows Vista), I fixed it by going into Control Panel on my PC then selecting Programmes & Features. Find 'Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver' in the list and select change, then repair. Let Windows do its stuff & repair the driver (takes a few minutes). Once it's done reconnect your phone via the USB cable, select 'Connect via PC Suite' and it should work (it did for me)!
Nokia - it took me a lot of messing about and a few hours to solve this. Not good (very happy with everything up to this point)! You should either a) Update software to take account of this bug or b) Publish this fix (if it works for others in the same way it did for me) somewhere it's easy to find

After a lot of actions, time and efforts:
1-uninstall OVI Suite (can't load the previous version from Nokia).
2-install an old version of Map loader I had on my PC (no more loadable from Nokia either)
3-One full night of download and install for maps.
4-Two remove battery and reboot to get the GPS with a signal from satellites (no errors message provided just no fix)
5-Nokia Maps works, almost....
Because:
a-OVI Suite does not yet find maps on my E72.
b-It took me 2 days to get them back.
c-It duplicated all of my photos and videos.
d-I had to remove my music.
e-It downloaded 20 Mb from the 3G connection and refused to work on wifi from an intermediate voices loaded only situation.
f-While maps are displayed, the options screen (16 or so icons with traffic refresh...) the select option is surrounded by such a thin blue rounded square that I just can't see without using a magnifier!!
Now, that's almost OK:
I am somehow disappointed
by such an amateur
testing from Nokia. Don't you have any quality internal department? Or is it a strategy to let your, ever renewing, consumers get disgusted by your software?
Do not expect me to purchase any new product from you.
I think, you are spreading your efforts on too many software platforms. This is the right the opposite from Apple, Blackberry, Android and even Windows Mobile.
Oh, yes, latest news, now, MfE is asking repeatedly its password and apparently not doing anything useful of it.
