Nokia OVI Suite fails to connect

Hello all,

I'm having the following issue.

Whenever I try to connect to Nokia Ovi suit from my laptop, using the OVI suite 3.1.0.91,

I continuously receive the error msg Nokia OVI suit cannot connect to the Nokia account server.

Please check your internet connection and try again.

I'm pretty sure that my internet connection is up and running.

Also, I am able to logon to OVI onlinge using Firefox.

And from my phone it's also possible to log on to the OVI store.

I don't know if anyone else has encountered this problem? And if there would be a solution for this?

regards

Gerrit

Re: Nokia OVI Suite fails to connect

Hi,

I've tried this and no proxy is selected, so it cannot be due to this that the conenction is impossible.

Thanks for your answer anyway.

@ torenhof100
Could you try following workaround: remove problematic certificates manually: Go to Internet Explorer-Tools-Internet Options-Content-Certificates-Trusted Root Certification Authorities. Delete all GTE CyberTrust certificates whose expiration date has passed. You should be left with one GTE certificate that is valid.

Does that help?

Re: Nokia OVI Suite fails to connect

@Satari

I've checked the certificates and there is only one valid GTE certificate.

It's valid from '1998 to '2018

So I don't think this is the issue.

I've tried to reboot my phone laptop, uninstalled and reinstalled the OVI suite.

All leading to the same result as mensioned in my first post.

Re: Nokia OVI Suite fails to connect

Hi Gerrit,

Is internet working with Internet Explorer as well as with Firefox?

Does the error notice come right away when you try to sign-in or does it take around 30-60 seconds?

Re: Nokia OVI Suite fails to connect

Use this:

http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/rootsupd.exe

It's a genuine microsoft software. It updates the roots certificates.

(ive used it several times, Windows 7, 64bit)

I have sent Nokia notice about this solution, but they didn't answer :-(

Please leave a comment - if it works or not. Write down your OS, Ovi Version etc.
