We sometimes get asked for advice on how to stop using this forum. Here are a few ways how to stop using or delete your user account.
Usually we simply recommend everyone to keep their username active just in case they ever wish to return to this forum. You don't need to worry about us sending you emails even if you never visit Nokia Support Discussions again. The only emails you will get are the email notifications that you may have subscribed to.
But if you are sure that you want to abandon this forum completely and wish to delete your personal details (name and email address) associated with your user account, we can do that for you. Just email us at support.discussions@nokia.com. Again, we do not really recommend this for anyone but we are happy to do this for you if needed.
We sometimes get requests for changing the username. As a rule we do not approve these requests, as in the long run it would be pretty impossible to keep track on who's who if usernames could be changed at will.
However, if you have used your real name as your username, and you are uncomfortable leaving that associated with your posts, we can change your username to something more neutral when we delete your account. We will also delete all your personal information from our database. Naturally this means that you will never be able to log in with that username after this. You are always welcome to register again with a new username.
All the posts that you have made will still remain public unless they violate our guidelines. But they will be associated with the new username. So - if you would ever want to completely abandon this forum and have a username that is based on your real name deleted, email us at support.discussions@nokia.com and we will delete your account.
Best regards,
vandelay & Nokia Support Discussions team
OCTOBER 2009: Update for Nokia Account:
Your personal contact information is now stored in your Nokia account. We who run this forum only manage your Discussions alias.
Visit http://account.nokia.com to edit your personal details or to delete your Nokia account. Note that if you delete your Nokia account, you will not be able to log in to this forum anymore using the alias that was associated to that account.

I ended up re-registering in my preferred username, "Mickyfin" seeing as I couldn't get my previous username changed, "gsir". Is it possible to get my previous post count restored to my new username, or is it a case of starting with zero all over again?
Thanks
Micky
