Hy!
Since I've bought this phone I can't make it use a mp3 as a tone. I don't know why but it tells me "Unable to set as tone. File format not supported".
This phone should by able to use mp3 as tone.
Can anyone help me!

I know that in the UK Vodafone originally blocked the 6630 from using MP3s as ring tones unless they had been purchased from Vodafone. Might be something similar with Orange in Romania

do you know how could I unblock this thing? Or should I talk with the people from Orange?

Phones sold in Belgium don't normally have operator software, but Proximus (which is a Vodafone partner) has sometimes sold phones with Vodafone Live software installed so it is possible that your phone is affected by this issue.

This phone is installed with the Vodafone Live software.
I'm thinking to download a software version from outside Belgium, like United Kingdom...

Maybe I have more luck with that version...

Unfortunately, the firmware is based on the phone's product code and you can only download for that, so unless the VF Live firmware has been freed from its constraints since earlier versions you are stuck.

UK firmware wouldn't help anyway, most of the UK networks have considerable changes in their own firmware versions.

I already got the latest software update on my phone.
I'll ask Proximus, see what they have to say about this...

I just called the Proximus Helpdesk...
They told me it would be a problem with rights.
SABAM & stuff...

After that he told me that a provider can not do this.
They can never block use of mp3 ring tones...

I don't know what to think about that..
But i'll convert my mp3's from now and let's see what that will do...
