been surfing the net for a few hours now and i can only find rather useless 'reformat memory card' and 'reformat phone' answers.
ive been messing about with the mp3 tags on my memory card because the music player had a lot of unknown songs in it.
after refreshing the library it still had some playlists and songs in it that i already deleted via the mass storage connection.
sooo..
what i did was delete the following files:
e:\private\101FFC31\mpxv1.mpd
e:\private\101FFC31\pcv5.mpd
e:\private\101ffca9\harvesterdb.dat
after starting up the music player it went on building a new library and i got the 'looking for new songs and podcasts' msg.
after 3 hours i checked my phone and it still had that message on it.
there are only 4 GB of mp3s on it so i thought something was wrong and i canceled the process and manually refreshed the library.
it did find all the songs but now it doesn't want to play any of them.
* the memory card is ok. i checked it in another pc and all the mp3s play normally.
* the memorycard works in the phone because sygic mcguider is still working normally as well.
* when i remove the memcard and play a mp3 from the phone memory i get the same error.
* but when i select a mp3 with the file manager then it starts up the music player and... plays the mp3!
* when i exit the file manager i get the general error message again.
N82 with latest firmware and 16 GB sandisk memory card.

c'mon now.
there must be an easy solution for this.
it's only the music player thats acting up.
im using a 3rd party music player now but its **bleep** compared to the original one.
isn't there a way to reinstall the music player without having to reinstall all the other apps?
i feel like have to reinstall ubuntu because vlc has a problem... thats just crazy...

If you've deleted those files. By the way, you need to delete those files in each one of the drives of the phone, not just the E drive.
Basically in each memory card and the mass memory similar files will be present, you need to wipe them all.
If you still can't get it working, then the only other option would be a reset. But you WILL lose data, so do it at you own peril.

hi Heyzzz, could you help me out with my latest problem with the music player of my Nokia C7? After updating my phone to Nokia Belle, after about 2 weeks the music player won't show the list of songs in each album when I'm scrolling the album art. I'd tried to refresh the music library yet it isn't fixed, also tried to re-install Belle and the same problem lingered. What would have been the problem? Could you help me out with this? Hope to receive a reply from you, Thanks
