Problems playing music since Anna update

Since upgrading with the new Anna software my phone wont play half of my MP3's stating 'General: System error'.

 

It then refused to play anything through the songs list. Most of my music are individual tracks so I play them through the library not the album list.

 

This update has rendered my phone useless in playing music. I have been able to play the tracks via my laptop when connected via USB straight from the phone but not from the phone itself. When I put it on shuffle it skips a lot of the songs.

 

HELP!
