Hi all,
here's some information from the Ovi team:
--------------------------------------------------
The Ovi Player, when installing, sometimes defaults to a different Ovi Music store than the one selected. Instead the installer selects the regional settings from the Operating System and sets the Ovi Music Store to that country.
If this is the case, your login credentials will not work or there will be no ‘sign-in’ buttons.
To correct this, manually select the store of the country you wish to log in to.
Run the following command in Windows:
Start > Run > oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-GB
The en-GB needs to be replaced with the code for the region that you want to be pointed at. See below for all the correct URI commands:
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-GB
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=fr-FR
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=de-DE
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=it-IT
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=es-ES
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=nl-NL
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-IE
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=fi-FI
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=sv-SE
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=da-DK
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-AU
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=zh-SG
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=pt-pt
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=nb-no
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=ar-AE
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=de-CH
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=de-AT
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=es-MX
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=pt-BR
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=af-ZA
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=pl-PL
oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=hi-IN
Once you’ve got the corresponding URI:
• Start > Run
• Copy the URI into the 'run box' and then Enter.
• Ovi Music Player should launch (or activate, if it’s already running).
• Wait a few seconds and you should find the Ovi Player now directs to the correct store and, on restart, your homepage will be that store.
• If you see 'No internet connection...' message, click on the Home button and wait for the new page to load.
• Even after doing this, you are not able to access the LIVE store, delete the MDataStore.db3 file and start Ovi Music Player again.
• On the start-up screen, select correct country location

Nearly there...
This works in XP and Vista Business where you have the "Start>Run", but it doesn't seem to be working in Vista Home where you activate commands and programs via the search bar in the Start menu. Vista Home doesn't accept the command, see attached screenshot.
Is there a different solution for Vista Home?

Can you go to the command prompt instead and type: start oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-GB (or which ever country suits).
That should do it

Finally, I got it to work... Took ages.
Have you people ever heard of TESTING? All the other companies test their products/services before realeasing them on the market. Jesus, If I buy your products and services, I expect them to work without the need to use the command promt... We are not using MS-Dos anymore, if you haven't noticed.
You are selling mobile devices, which mean people who buy them are probably mobile. I can/want/will set my country settings on my computer to whatever i like and I still expect your products to work. Luckily there are other manufacturers, who at least have some sort of clue how not to screw things up.
Thanks for all the wasted time.

THANK YOU SO SO SO SO MUUUUCH!!!! I've reported this issue to Mexican Nokia Support, and they had me waiting for 3 weeks already without any solution. I just followed your post and got it to work in a second!!!!!. Hope you can keep all nokia support teams updated so we "the clients" won't have to search "outside" for solutions Nokia should give us immediately. I know this is not your problem but want to believe you can spread the word "upstairs" so they can do something about it. Again, thanks for the solution!!!! Greetings from Mexico and whish you happy holidays!!!

Glad I found this discussion. Unfortunately, it seems a little late.
I tried to activate Comes with Music on the PC for about 2 hours yesterday and could never get the screen to enter the activation pin.
Finally yesterday I activated with the phone. Now after seeing this discussion and following the step I am able to enter the PIN but now it says i have exceeded the activation limit.
I gather that you can either activate on teh phone OR activate with the PC, but not both.
Can this get changed so that it is activated on the PC? it would be much easier for me?
Thanks Geoffs

I have followed your instructions to the letter, and it still doesn't work. I agree with what's said below asking why you are releasing updates that don't work and obviously without adequate testing. By the way, I have e-mailed the Nokia support centre several times and despite getting an automated reply promising you will reply within 48 hours, have never received any response whatsoever.

unfortunately, my problem also remains unsolved.
I had had this PC registered to comeswithmusic as well as the phone, but irritatingly had to re-install XP for second time and the ovi player would no longer let me sign in. I called at the helpdesk and the 3month transfer record was cleared, but yet I cannot access my account details or do the sign in.
Would appreciate if someone found a solution. I tried to reset the location as advised here (had been lazy and installed with default US English setting though selecting my true country).
If I try to play a song from the phone (N97 mini), a pop-up window Licensing appears with nothing but a cancel button. From windows media player instead I get a prompt to enter user name and password, media player transfers to Nokia music shop but the credentials do not qualify. Probably not because the song is loaded under CWM and my PC is now not associated with the CWM profile of the server...

Hi ,
I am using Nokia Ovi Player version 2.0.1106.00.
I am also having sign in problems in the sense that the sign-in and Join now button are indeed present in top right side of the Ovi player but when i click either of them , nothing happens.
The busy icon is shown at the bottom left side of screen for 1-2 seconds and nothing happens.
My default location is correctly picked up as India ( The ovi player directs me to India store by default)
can you please tell me what shall i do to resolve the problem
Regards

Hi,
If I understand you right, you did not follow the instructions because the Ovi store directs you to the correct store. If this is the case, I strongly recommend you to follow the instructions of the post, because I had the same problem you have now, and it got resolved following the post instructions. Hope this helps other wise keep calling Ovi Support Team.
Regards,
Mk

I noticed that when attempting to start a song from OVI suite (not ovi player), I was prompted to enter the license data. In the OVI player, I saw a licensing -box without buttons etc., but by cycling through programs with alt-tab I found a window that asked my credentials. And then my OVI player started to respond and let me try registering my device: only now it says the pin has already been used so apparently I need yet another long call to the support number and resetting of the code.

I can not sign in at the ovi store, I can access the home page, I can access the sign in page, but the moment I enter the first letter of my username, the system crashes and shut down.
(I do not have CWM)
- I've tried it on two locations, so it has nothing to do with the internet connection
- I'v tried to delete the .db3 file
- I've tried to acces it via 'run' and oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=nl-NL
- I've tried to switch off my firewall
- I've reinstalled the ovi player
Nothing works...
please help me...

Hi
I've been struggling this for most of the day but think it's all working well now.
I just wanted to layout the exact steps I took because, for me, the order of things played a role.
1. Uninstall Ovi Player
2. Delete the .db3 file
3. Restart your PC
3.5. Do not start Ovi Player!
4. Run oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-GB (altered for your language and region)
5. Ovi player will start
6. Select your region and import your music
The store tab should now be working properly!
I was at first convinced that the oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-GB solution did not work but I think that was because I was trying it after starting Ovi Player for the first time.
Hope this helps!

Please do this (as seen here):
Close all browsers, go to control panel, internet options, browsing history, delete..
Delete the following in this order:
- cookies
- form data
- passwords
Start ovi player. It will ask you for user and password.
Should work!
Regards, William.

at hermot.....Thats why APPLE users are called as dumb people. All you need to do in this case is basic troubleshooting. If you cant do that go back to APPLE. Y did u buy a nokia device. All this is the result of spoon feeding. This is no place to compare APPLE products.
