I got Nokia 6120 and everything went well the old Nokia Music Manager.
I've just installed the Nokia Music v1.2 and it won't recognize the phone so I can't transfer any music files. It doesn't matter if I'm choosing "PC Suite" or "Media Player" when I connect the cable. Other PC Suite applications recognize it and I can transfer the music files manually, but it's still annoying.
Any suggestions?

Same with me and my Nokia 5220... connecting as Prinet & Media (as suggested) - nope and nothing with other options. Nokia don't read these threads or seem to do anything about any of their software glitches. One year of this phone and it's time to ditch I'm afraid.
Going ditch it I think and get an Orange iPhone out here. Nokia cannot make any decent software to support music transfer.
Had problems with Nokia Music Manager various versions and now this "new" update....
Will go back to old version of PC Suite I think...

Same for me, Nokia 5500. Have had a year of trouble with the musictransfer/file conversion with pcsuite and it all ends up that all artists gets in the unknown artist folder. Really sucks. When you didn´t think it could get any worse this happens. Just got to get another cellphone. Unfortunately NOT a Nokia

At least if there is a moderator there you could actually try and get someone to sort out your pile of junk that you call software. Here's where Apple win, they make excellent software and are catching up on Nokia's years of mobile phone experience but cannot comete as the phone is turning into a small pc/mac!
BTW I wan't being that rude was I - how can anyone have any idea what the asterix meant, that's the whole point. Strange kind of Orwellian censorship..
Hum Ho.. another point for the iTeam

I'm in much the same situation.
I was using the PC suite to transfer music and playlists to my 6121 Classic. I'd often use a bluetooth connection rather than USB.
Now I've 'upgraded' to Nokia Music I can't see the phone with a bluetooth connection in Nokia Music. Nor can I have it connected to the PC suite (for SMS etc...) and Nokia music at the same time.
This really seems like a big step backwards.

Did try that but no joy. Anyway the whole saga has been solved as last week I was cycling home and with phone in short's pocket - I got drenched by an absolute huge thunderstorm. Phone stopped working and a week later still won't do a thing..
So I went and bought an iPhone - bloody marvellous thing I have to say. Sorry but bye bye Nokia

Try setting the usb transfer mode to "Media Player" works on N95 8GB.
If you go to the connectivity option under settings, you can change it without having to unplug the cable each time.
Hope it helps.

.......I'm using a Nokia N95 8GB and none of the suggestions above work.
There is no way that the new music manager recognizes my phone.
Any help from Nokia would be very much appreciated.
Having the phone connected to my laptop via USB works fine except for Nokia Music no matter what connection type is selected in the phone.
Why the connection type needs to be changed anyway?
If I'm connected to the internet via my phone modem means that I have to break the connection in order to transfer music or am I mistaken here?
A new software update should improve functionality and not make thing worse.
Please someone give me a hand here.
Thanks in advance.......

*sigh* i have the same problem too..
I've had my Nokia 5800XM for about a week and a bit now and i've been loving it.
Nokia Music has been great too...up until now...
Today i added some more music to sync with my 5800XM, and all of a sudden it isn't recognised. Nor will it show up in Windows Explorer (running Windows 7 RC build 7100 atm) like it used to - as "Printers and other devices", but i do get a message from the Nokia PCSuite taskbar app saying "Nokia 5800XM connected in a non-compatible USB Mode" so it is there.
After this happened, i tried troubleshooting to see if the phone atleast connected in Mass Storage mode, it worked successfully, but as expected, still no recognition in Nokia Music v1.2.
I then tried it in PC Suite mode, the Suite software on the PC and phone worked, and i upgraded to the latest firmware (v21.0.025) as further testing, and reconnected in Media Transfer mode, with again no avail.
In between trying these methods, i rebooted both the PC and Phone numerous times...
Can't anyone please help us? ![]()

ugh i "ran out of time" to edit my last post, but i thought i'd just add this:
Funnily enough, when i'm connected in PCSuite mode, when i open Nokia Music and hover over and/orclick on the Phone icon, it says, "Your Nokia device is connected in an incorrect mode for music transfer. Please disconnect your device and try the following:
1. Connect your mobile device to your Pc using a compatible USB cable
2. On the device, select the mode that allows you to transfew media, and if prompted, select OK"
so i don't know whats going on with that, it recognises it (incorrectly) when in PCSuite mode, yet not at all when connected in Media Transfer mode?....

Having same problem with my E71. have trawled this forum to no avail. The fastest response comes from someone upset with asterisks. Can we please have the same swift response to this problem as it appears a lot of people are having the same problems?
I'm sick to death of installing, un-installing, re-booting, unplugging, etc etc.
BTW N*k*a M*s*c P**y*r is n*t w*rk**g pr*perly!!!!

Totally agree with the comments on this thread. v1.2 is useless with my E71. None of the 4 connection options work with it. The previous version was OK (ish) but at least it did was supposed to (eventually). And I can't find a way to rollback to it.
I can transfer files with RealPlayer, but I like the way the previous version of Mucic Manager set up folders for new transfers and had the option for converting to .m4a but RP won't do either of those.

If you just upadated to the new PC Suite without uninstalling the old version the Music Manager should be still available in the Program Files folder (search the Nokia Folder in there).
Anyway, that is no solution to the problem and I thought that by now there would be some feedback from the Nokia Team.
I uninstalled completely and cleaned with the Nokia PC Suite Cleaner and got rid of remaining folders manually.
Although I cleaned up the registry after that so I had a clean install on the new version but still there is no way to get the N95 8GB connected to the new Nokia Music application.
Hopefully there will be a solution to the problem soon but it seems that Nokia Music is still full of bugs.......

.......this thread is getting quite.
It seems that there is still no solution to the problem.
I wrote to Nokia Support but didn't even got a reply.
Hopefully one of you guys can come up with some helpful advise.......

I am seriously disappointed that Nokia downgrade the Nokia Music Manager to such level that everyone should suffer to have your albums on your phone; I don’t believe that any developer in this world will remove some old features already coded in the developing project before releasing a new version with new look and feel,
In the old version, I am able to select the location on my mobile where I want to save my music, the new version ignore that option,
In the old version I am able to connect with Bluetooth along with the data cable, the new version is only work with the data cable,
Sorry if everyone read all this, here is the help I can give to everyone, first once you upgrade your PC Suite and download the Nokia Music Player, you should upgrade your firmware of your mobile using Update Phone Software from your PC Suite, then you can successfully connect to Nokia Music Player, first when you connect your phone using the data cable be sure to change the connectivity mode to print & media, or anything but Data & PC Suite, wait until the PC Suite show a message that your mobile is not in compatible mode before you finally open the Nokia Music Player
Check this link to see if your mobile is compatible http://www.nokia.co.uk/get-support-and-software/do
