Nokia 5800 music "leaks"

When i am listening to music through my earphones and i recieve a message the music temporarily plays out through the phones speakers for a second or two. This isn't suitable when i am in school and my music plays to the whole room. Can anyone help me fix this problem? Thanks

Err, you should be listening to your teacher when you're in the room and not to music...
