Hi,
I have a 1 week old Nokia 5800 XpressMusic handset running on the firmware v30.0.011 and I have around 2 GB of music in the phone at the moment. Since yesterday, I am experiencing a problem with the Music Player in my phone.
When I go to Music Player -> All Songs option, a pop-up appears at the bottom of the screen with the word "Opening ..." on it and we can see the first few songs in the phone displayed in a sort of grayed-out manner in the background at that moment. These would typically be arranged in alphabetical order, so I am seeing music starting with the alphabet 'A' on this briefly displayed list.
However, the issue is that once the "Opening" pop-up disappears and the entire list should now be supposedly shown, I can only see songs which are starting with the alphabet 'S' ... going all the way to 'Z'. I cannot see the upper half of my song collection !!!
Now to make things worse, if I go ahead and double click on the first song displayed now on my screen, the music player plays the REAL first song on my list.
This may be confusing for you to understand, so let me use an example:
a. I go to Music Player -> All Songs
b. The "Opening" pop-up appears and I briefly see in the background (grayed-out) the songs with title starting with 'A', which in my case are are "A Tout Le Monde", "Another Day In Paradise", etc.
c. The "Opening" pop-up goes away in a few seconds and the list now shows songs starting with 'S', which are "Send Me An Angel", "Somewhere I Belong", etc.
d. I double click on the second song "Somewhere I Belong" to listen to it, but the music player actually plays the real second song "Another Day In Paradise".
Now, what steps have I taken to try and rectify this:
a. I have tried restrarting the phone (note ... not reset).
b. I have removed the memory card, started the phone, then switched it off, reinserted the memory card and tried again.
c. I have used the Music Player -> Options -> Refresh Library tool, which remained stuck indefinitely with the pop-up "Refreshing. 0 file(s) added." with the candy-stick like scrolling at the bottom ... till after 8 hours I had to press the Stop button.
By the way, I also think I know what triggered this ... I just deleted a song from my phone library via the media player only. Not sure, but I think this was the point after which the problem has started occuring.
It's also interesting to note that the all the songs do actually exist on the phone, because I can still go to the other options like "Artists", "Albums", "Playlists", "Genres" etc and access all the music correctly. It's just that "All Songs" list display is mucked up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated ... Thanks in advace !!!

For the missing songs, this happened to me twice when I connected the phone to a PC not my own (it was a public PC). The card was corrupted. So I had to reformat the card. Although you may need not to, since I was able to fix it once without formatting.
1. Connect the memory card to your PC. Use either a card reader or the phone set to Mass Storage.
2. Open My Computer and right click the memory card. Select Properties>Tools>Disk Check. Run disk check.
3. Open the memory card and set to show hidden files. Delete the FOUND.000 Folder.
4, Delete the entire Digital Folder inside the Sounds Folder. Along with all your music files
5. Make a new digital folder and put in all your music files into it.
6, Disconnect phone and refresh.
