Music player doesn't recognize song details

I just transferred 250+ songs from my computer to my phone (5230) but only 13 songs maintained some of their information. All the others are missing album art, album names, artists, etc., which were all in place in windows media player, from where I transferred them.

Is there some other program I could use, or something I might be doing wrong?

Please use plain text.

Nokia Music Player: How to edit the details of a song

View the details of a song

Right-click a song, and select  Get track details….

Edit details using the detail editor

  1. Right-click a song or album, and select Edit track details… or Edit album details….
  2. To view and edit top-level details of the song or album, open the Summary tab. You can edit all of the fields in this tab.
  3. To view the album art image associated with the song or album, open the Album artwork tab. You can change or delete the image.
  4. To add or edit lyrics, open the Lyrics tab. This tab is available only for individual songs.
  5. To view detailed information about the song, open the Properties tab. You cannot edit these details. This tab is available only for individual songs.

If you select multiple songs for editing, you can select which details to edit for the songs on the Summary tab. Select the check box next to the detail field to edit. When you edit the contents of the field, the detail is changed for all the selected songs. You can only edit details that are common to all the selected songs.

Edit details using drag and drop

Edit the details of a single song

Drag the song onto another song. The following details of the song you dragged are updated to match the target song: album art, album title, song artist, genre, and year. Dragging a single song onto a group of songs or an album only updates those details on the dragged song where all relevant fields within the target songs contain the same information.

Edit details in the My Music view

Edit an artist name

Select Artists and the artist name. When you edit or change the artist name, the name is changed in the details of all the songs by that artist.

You can edit song or album details in any category of the My Music view.

 Artwork

Only the album art that is embedded in the file is transferred from your PC to your mobile device. If album art is missing in Nokia Music Player, it can be added on your PC manually in either of the following ways:

1) To add an image that is stored on your PC, right click on the album in your music library in Nokia Music Player and select Edit album details > Album artwork > Add picture.

2) To update album art through Nokia Music service, right click the track or album name in Nokia Nokia Player and select Get album artwork.

To attach album art on your mobile device, browse for the album or track in the mobile device music player, and select Options > Album art > Options > Change.

This option is not available on all mobile devices. If album art is missing in your mobile device and if there is no option to add/change it with music player, please, check that album art is available in Nokia Music Player. Then delete track from phone and import from Nokia Music Player again. Now the mobile device should display album art. If the album art still does not show on the device, try step 1 (adding the art manually from PC).
