Music Player problem on Nokia 701 (Belle)

My phone seems to have a problem when all the music file are on the memory card.

Problems:

Deleted music still appear on the (default) playlist. When tried to play it gives the 'General System Error' message. Some music files (which exist only once in memory card only) tend to appear twice, and both these files DO NOT play, instead, give the 'General System Error' error.

These errors appear even after updating to the latest firmware for Belle (111.020.0307).

All these errors stopped after ALL the music files were transferred to the mass memory (E:smileyhappy:.

I'd rather have all my music on the memory card. (Please don't suggest formatting the memory card, it's tedious and seems useless).

Any help, on how this error can be corrected, will be appreciated.

Thank You.

Re: Music Player problem on Nokia 701 (Belle)

Hi santathe1,

When deleting your music files on your memory card, did you refresh your music library to allow the device to recognise that certain music files are not on your memory card no more?

If you just delete the music from the memory card and not refresh the library, the contents will be there but will have no file to link to which can cause this error.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
