FM Transmitter Or Bluetooth for best in car music?

Well my factory fitted car sterio is playing up and i'm looking at getting a replacement. before getting a N8, having bluetooth for streaming music in-car seemed like a good idea but now I have the ability to stream music via FM, is it worth getting a bluetooth enabled head unit? is the sound quality and different?

The sound quality using bluetooth is vastly superior to using an FM transmitter.

Using bluetooth the quality will be like playing a CD on the actual car stereo. Using the FM transmitter it will be like broadcast FM radio and open to interference. FM can also be a pain if you travel between counties as you may find yourself having to constantly adjust the frequency you the phone is broadcasting on.

If you want to test sound quality before buying anything compare the quality of a CD (or a decent bit rate mp3) to that of a strong FM station like Radio 1 or 2 using any device. If your ears can't tell the difference then you may want to stick to the cheapest option and just use the FM transmitter.
