Yesterday I bought a new Nokia x6 Comes With Music 32GB and I try to activate it for my one year Nokia Music Unlimited subscription.

It says this is not your Nokia Music Unlimited device.

What is up? I understood that these new devices should still be able to register. There is no place where I can put my code that came in the package. I also tried to register a normal account first (this one) and then try again to register into the unlimited service but I get same error message.

I hope Nokia didn´t silently shut down the ability to do this on a new device because then why would there still be the registration banner and everything

Just to note: this is right after uninstalling everything that said nokia (didnt have nokia music but had nokia ovi suite) and reinstalling and updating everything that came on the cd with the package.

Judging by similar posts, I should contact Nokia Care tomorrow and hope for a solution

Hi Mendeli,

Yes, local Nokia Care folks are able to help you with this so, that's the right thing to do. Check that you have the Unlimited PIN and device IMEI codes at hand when contact them.

Well I called them and they asked for my imei and software version and said they would tell their IT department about this, whatever that means.

Then I realized they didn´t even ask about my activation code so I called them again, there was some confusion and then they found my case and agreed that the code might help so they added it to their somesystemthingie where they had my case being forwarded to the IT department. They had no idea how long this would take so I guess this will not be solved any time soon

Now it has a new error message! Nokia musiikki unlimited -laitteesi on tarkoitettu käytettäväksi toisen maan kaupassa. Käytä ostomaan kauppaa.

It means My nokia music unlimited device is meant to be used in another countrys shop. Use the shop of the country you buyed the device from.

Well I am in the Finnish Nokia Music player shop and I bought the device right here in Kokkola, Finland. This is just weird!

They called me back and told they had made some changes to the database and it all seems to work now. While one would hope that this would have worked without all the hassle, I still have to agree that at least the Nokia Care worked relatively fast as I was prepared to wait well over the holidays.

btw, the first song (by Christina Perri) that I downloaded started with the words "How the hell" and this reflects my amazement now
