5800 - music store: unable to perform operation

Hi,

Recently i had a problem with nokia music store. Last time when go into the music store will lead to store selector then i need to click nokia music store Singapore then just will load to the list of music and log in link.

But now I only can load till store selector then when I click for Singapore it will prompt me error message : " music store: unable to perform operation".

I bought this phone around half a year so don't think that my free 1yr membership is expire and I called to to nokia care center and this operator ask me to use other way to log in music store like use e.g.. GPRS ( GPRS very expensive, normally I'm using Wifi to load in music store)  she not solving my prob .. =.=

anyone can help me .. ? do i really need to bring down to nokia care center which is quite far for me >.<  Can i reinstall music store?

Re: 5800 - music store: unable to perform operation

Hi muackieswawa

I found this problem just after updating firmware to v40.0.005 but have discovered that whether or not error message is produced depends upon how fast you hit the "middle icon" (My account - key symbol) after selecting WLAN for connection as in enclosed screenshot below.

Another solution is after establishing internet connection via WLAN point your browser to music.nokia.com.sg and then enter username and password which is what I think Nokia Care meant by operator asking you to use other way to log in music store.

Happy to have helped the forum in a small way from 2007-10

Re: 5800 - music store: unable to perform operation

Hi,

I am currently experiencing the same problem as well after the firmware update. I am suspecting it is caused by the V40 fm released recently.

The error message will pop up in random during my browsing experience when using Music Store. Closing and starting it back may or may not solve the issue as after a few moment of use, the error message pops back up again.

I have already reformatted my memory card and did a reset (*#7370#) on my phone yesterday before restroing backup to see if any problem related to old data. It is NOT and the problem persist.

I am looking at hard reset, reformat memory card and reinstall of firmware as last resort before visiting the Nokia Care Center.

Re: 5800 - music store: unable to perform operation

Is there no one else experiencing the similar issue? Any slution guys?

I have contacted nokia care and they have suggested that i format my phone (*#7370#). Did that and to my utmost disappointment, the problem is not solve. Really need some workable solution here. I have give up on Nokia care. They are just a bunch of robots following instructions on manual!
