Intel has recently released a new Embedded Graphics and Media Driver (EMGD), which properly supports Windows 7 and provides better support for OpenGL, among other fixes.

I took the liberty to create a package that fits the Nokia Booklet specifically, and I thought that perhaps some others might be looking for the same thing.

Notable fixes:

- Less flickering with Windows Aero enabled

- Improved Windows Aero performance

- OpenGL 2.0 support (still not correct but usable)

- Color correction profile and setup settings in Graphics Properties are loaded correctly at startup

- Better support for h.264 hardware acceleration using DXVA for supported softwares

Please note that since this driver messes with voltage values, though very small, it may potentially cause other problems that shouldn't be. I have only tested it on my own Booklet, and I don't guarantee that it would work on yours.

These IGDD drivers are great but they dont support flash. For that reason I dont use them.

Anyword on planned updates for the GMA500 driver? 2030 came out in oct I believe.

They do support Flash, but only version 10.1.

To get Flash 10.3 or Flash 11 to play nice, you have to disable Hardware Acceleration. HD Flash won't work, but the GMA 500 doesn't have any driver that actually plays nice with HD Flash.

Also regarding official drivers, the GMA 500 has been declared EOL, or End Of Life, so official driver support has ended. 2030 is the last version that the GMA 500 will ever have.

EMGD is where development will be next, thus driver version for this release is 2048.

Here is a new update to Intel EMGD. Works with Flash HD. Fullscreen Flash is still not perfectly smooth, but it's not going to crash anymore. You can still turn off Hardware Acceleration for Flash to get smooth playback in fullscreen but no HD.
