guys,
Best buy droped the price of the booklet to $199.99 and is issuing rebates/refunds of the $100 for anyone who purchased one AFTER 11/1/09.
they are issuing these rebates until 1/31/09, however, the price is going back up to $299.99 this coming saturday 1/9/10.
if $100 bucks is worth your time, i would go and get your $100 bucks back....got mine today!
it ALMOST pays for that HD upgrade some of you are doing.

Thank you for the information. Do I just bring the reciept in to Best Buy? Is there anything to refer to if they don't believe me?

i made a good relationship with the rep there, so i went in and asked and he pulled up my reciept for me.
i would bring it in just in case....but they can do anything that is needed.
BE NICE! ![]()
all i asked was if there was price-protection on the booklet since it dropped in price right after i purchased it.......
that was all it took.

I tried at my local best buy today and they were pretty useless - or more accurately, the manager didn't really seem to care or want to help. He tried to do a price protection and since I bought it in early November, he said I was past the 14 day price protection time.
Has anyone else had success and know what they did at the store?
thanks,
PEte

Any know if this "refund" is just for those who purchased subsidized units?

i would believe that to be true.
the retail price without activation is still the $599.99 price. only the WITH ACTIVATION price dropped to $199.99.
i was given a refund to a BestBuy Gift card, since i paid with one.
