message in outbox

it's doing my head in now

there's a message in my outbox which i think got there when i tried to send a message and phone battery died

if i press send, it says unable to send, if i press delete it says deferred and just sits there
i've tried moving it to drafts, it just sits there

i've tried the soft reset, the hard reset *#7370# and the hard reset *#7870# and the 3 button method as well, and the file is still there

i was using the mass memory for storage of my text messages. Is there anyway i can actually locate the message data file and delete it by using explorer (connected by a usb) or some sort of application available? or anything - i'm losing my temper with it now

Re: message in outbox

If the messages are on your memory card then reformatting the phone will have had no effect on that since the memory card is the only thing left untouched by a hard reset!

Which phone are you using? The location varies depending on the phone model.

Re: message in outbox

This will delete all your messages, not just the one in the outbox.

Set the phone's messaging system to use the internal memory (C: drive) for messaging. If you're asked if you want to copy the existing messages thnen say no (or you'll copy the problem over). Your messages will revert to whatever state they were in before you switched over to the E: mass memory.

Connect the phone in "mass storage" mode and go to the mass memory using your file explorer on the computer. Don't forget to enable the display of hidden and system files.

Navigate to E:\Private\1000484b

In there you'll see a folder called Mail2.

Delete it.

Disconnect the phone from the computer, Set it to use the E: mass storage for messaging and say "no" when asked if you want to copy your existing messages over.

Done.
