Nokia 6790

I just stumbled across Nokia Messaging. Love it! I've deleted my old mailbox and now use NM exclusively. However, SMS still comes in under the old software. Is there any way to integrate SMS into Nokia Messaging?

Also, once the audible notification of new mail comes in, there is no indication on the home screen that I have new mail waiting. If the sound or vibration is missed, I have to keep checking periodically. Is there an alternative that I'm missing? Some kind of visual notification like in the "old system"?

For the Notification display.. check the various option under Homescreen settings..

hey, i have the n97 and i dont get an alert and it deosnt say i have a new message on the homescreen, how can i fix that or and how can i get the homescreen setting thing? thank u

For SMS notifications there is no setting required... For audio alerts check your Profile settings.. and if you have a very high no. of messages stored on your phone.. delete as many as possible (from all the sub-folders of Messaging..) as this is one of the causes for 'NO notifications'...
