SMS envelope flashing - no unopened sms's

I received my new N79 phone yesterday, and since I switched it on for the first time, there is a small envelope flashing in the top right corner of the screen. I checked, there are no new messages or unread messages in my inbox. Could this be a defect or is there a way to get rid of this flashing envelope? Please, could someone help me?

Check SIM messages and SIM contacts (see the Options menu in Messages and Contacts apps).

Thank you Petrib. I saw the following link someone referred to: /discussions/board/message?board.id=topfaq&thread.id=44. Now the envelope is not flashing anymore. Thanks for your reply.
