Hi,
Except for bugfixes it's maybe a good idea to post some requests/ideas for future release of 'Nokia Messaging'.
Here are some for starters:
- Ability to quicksend a message using the green/send key just like in the native messaging application.
- Ability to change the background or at least follos the system's theme.
- Ability to chance the fontsize.

Hi Phil,
My list is so long that i don't even want to start posting on this matter because i still intend to get some slip.
Just for a starter Nokia can look at LCG app ProfiMail.
When Nokia gets to that level of usability and sophistication then it would make a sense to talk about how else we could to improve messaging client
Until then - couple of hacker kids from the school in my neighborhood, that i know, could do better job. give them full pay and 6 month, i tell you, they do wonders.

I'd like :
- a default to download all attachments, or to dictate what size for different types of attachments.
- to be able to see all my selected folders even if there are no recent emails in them. If not see the contents, at least see them to be able to "move" emails into them, including from the "Sent" folder. As it is now, if a given folder you select on the Messaging website does not have an unread email in it from the past few days, you cannot access the folder via the phone. This is on IMAP / Hotmail in case it matters. If different providers work better for this, I'd like to know.
- occasional synching to update read status or deletes even if no new emails arrive. As it is now, it seems to only update if a new email arrives in your inbox.
Thanks.

@inbc We're working on the folders as well as your question about read status and deletes.
I welcome this thread and encourage your feedback (good and bad). I know there's plenty of improvements we can make (and have been making in the past per your feedback).

- Make the standby screen notifications work like the built-in (e71) client notifications: only show the line for an account if there are new messages and optionally make the header and preview a pop-up. The current NM implementation takes up too much room and only shows previews for one account (on my phone at least).
- This may be a bug: carriage returns in the included signature are stripped from sent mail.
- Add time intervals between 'Soonest' and '1 hour'
Thanks!

I second what djames said.
The standby screen taking up 3 lines is EXTREMELY annoying. It should be configureable. I would like to have nothing there, but have a "X New Email(s)" box come up when I have new emails as the embedded SMS application does when you get a message.
This is starting to get to me, but I really don't feel like paying the local phone provider here the hideous ammounts they want for blackberry email. I had it before, and the software was good. Nokia Messaging has the potential to be just as good, however it needs a bit of refinement.
One of the other things that I liked about the nokia blackberry email client was how it interfaced into the standard nokia sms and inbox windows simply by scrolling across. I'm wondering if it's possible for a build of Nokia Messaging that would interface as the Blackberry sotware does.
Also, when in the inbox view on my E61i in Nokia messaging, if I hit the right hand button, it's labeled as back. It brings up a window with my single registered email account, and the other options of compose, sync, settings and help. I would MUCH rather this button be a button to exit the messaging window as in the embedded sms application. 99% of people will just want an email program to inform them when they have a new piece of mail, view it, reply to it, and then exit to their standby screen. Make it easy for them to do these 4 steps as easily as possible, and sick to the standard phone's menu structure, and you'll have a great application.
Why have the menu layouts on a phone different depending on what you want to do!? Nokias menus in the past have stood for simplicity and ease of use. With this application, it differs from the normal nokia E series menu structure, and in turn is a step back. If you act in the application how you normally do other embedded nokia software, it doesn't react as you'd expect. Please fix it so that it reacts to the main quick select buttons you use as it would in other aps such as the SMS app. If feel that would be a real step forward. Hitting a button I expect to exit the inbox and having it take me to a page with my inbox, settings, sync etc is starting to get extremely irritating.
Apart from the menu structure, and the standby page configuration issues, it's a great application. It just needs refining, that's all.

P.S. May I recommend that you embed a feedback form into the Nokia Messaging webpage? For a beta test of a piece of software to the public, and having to come onto a forum to give recomendations for future releases isnt a good way of finding out what the end customer is after. Having people see a feedback form when the download a free piece of software is the way to go.

Another suggestion. When you have a new email and select it, it takes you to your inbox messages overview. Please fix this so that if you have a single new email it takes you to the view of the message, but if you have 2 or more new messages it takes you to the inbox overview as it does now.
