Actually my diagnosis was incorrect because I was getting these same issue this morning. Realized that all was working well until I switched from my WAN access point to my GPRS access point. Went into the settings for Nokia Messaging, and switched the access point from Default to the GPRS access point and it started working again. Looks like there is an issue with Nokia Messaging being able to switch access points automatically.
I disagree, it's more than that, I've always had a specific access point defined.

Unfortunatelly I have to register my vote of no convidence for nokia's push email. I am on E63 with gmail. It has been working for about 30 days since I bought the phone, now the little green circle keeps showing up and the sync doesn't do anything.
Sure would be nice to get any response from Nokia on where They are with that.

The service has been very reliable for me now for a long period of months, probably up towards 6 months. Even after phone (E71) firmware upgrades and re-installs of Nokia Messaging. My wife has had the same experience on her E71.
Yesterday however, it cut out completely for both of us. We now get no sync of the inbox with Gmail at all. We are at the moment on different continents using different operators and phone versions but have the same experience.
Last night the Sent box started syncing with Gmail which meant that I could see the mails I sent from my laptop in my phone after a while. Still no sync in my inbox today.
What bothers me is that a friend of mine who use a N95 has no problems at the moment (never has).

We had one server of users go down yesterday and are almost finished fixing it. We apologize for that, and also have long-term plans in the works to significantly improve overall service reliability. Thanks,

Looks like I've got the same problem too, the service used to work okay but now I find that it's not syncing at all, won't connect to the service (can see that my 3G is not connected) and have to manually sync to get anything. Just registered my account and installed the client again today.
Having so many problems with a beta product would be borderline acceptable, but having such problems with a commercial product which I actually have to pay for is unacceptable.

Hi,
My service is coming back this morning. It was spotty at first but seem to be more reliable now.

Very unreliable sync. Most of my messages don't get to my phone inbox and when I send a message it simply disappears...Nokia E52 anda Gmail user

We are aware of a Nokia Messaging issue that's currently impacting Gmail and Google Apps email accounts. The problem is that sometimes email synchronizes to the device after a significant delay. Email synchronization will eventually resume automatically, but there's currently no workaround available at this time. We are actively investigating this issue, and we are trying to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconveniences this issue may cause.
Thank you,
Jeremiah Nielsen

Unfortunately, we cannot provide an ETA for resolution at this time. We are working very diligently to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible. We will update the discussion forum as soon as new information becomes available.
Thanks,
Jeremiah

I presume it is getting to upgrade time for a lot of nokia users and the question is why would we stay with Nokia when it provides such a unreliable email system.
I'm also one of the users who is effected but the lock code issue where I have to enter "112 send" to get my phone working.

i am using a Nokia N97 and Nokia messaging for the last three months.
I cannot sync my Nokia Messaging account since the 22nd december. I can acces my Gmail account through gmail as usual without any problems. I can also sync with my company Mail for Exchange.
I have tried to force the sync without success. The log says always that the sync was succesfull, but no emails have been downloaded.
I created a second account with a second gmail account, with the same lack of success. In fact, no email has been downloades.
The same think happened about three weeks ago and then suddenly the mails started pouring in and everything was updated.
Is there any server maintenance going on? Can I expect a solution in the following few days?
Many thanks.

I'm having problems with Nokia Messaging and Gmail.
It's now 4 days since it stopped working. I have reinstalled Nokia Messaging three times without success.
It's a pity Nokia Mail is so unreliable...

Happy New Year, All!
On my N97, I have Nokia Messaging set up for my Yahoo email. Usually, the sync goes well and I receive my messages, but on occasion it stops syncing for no reason, and then it starts working again after a short time.
This time, it has stopped syncing since Jan 1, 2010. I've tried "manual syncing" and restarting my phone. I've checked "connection info" which indicates:
online mode, connection inactive, last sync: 1/4/2010 9:05 AM (!), sync successful (!)
So is the problem with Yahoo, Nokia Messaging, or what?
Thanks for your replies.
