Nokia Messaging - POP Reply

Hi,

I'm using 3 email accounts on Nokia Messaging, 1 gmail and 2 POP3 Business.

I can receive and send mail on all accounts with no problems. But when I reply to an email from a POP account the email reply does not appear(go) in(to) sent folder!!!

I need to see my email replies on POP accounts, how can I fix this????

Notes:

- Phone model: E71-1;

- When sending an email through a POP or Gmail account sent emails appears in Sent folders;

- When I reply to an email with Gmail account the reply appears in account Sent folder;

- I've tried to delete the outgoing server information of POP accounts at http://email.nokia.com but it didn't solve the problem.

Thanks in advance,

Luis Patricio

Re: Nokia Messaging - POP Reply

The POP protocol is only for receiving e-mails. SMTP is used for sending e-mails.

If you send an e-mail, it's entirely up to the SMTP server to decide if it makes a copy or not on your "sent" folder. Your phone cannot do this!

Maybe using IMAP there's an option allowing for this, but as I said, POP is one-way (server to client), and what the SMTP server is not something the client (phone) can control.

If GMail does this and you like it this way, then good for you..

Re: Nokia Messaging - POP Reply

As I said, I can receive & send emails from POP/SMTP accounts, and i can find a copy of sent emails on "Sent" folder.

The problem is: when I Reply from a POP/SMTP account, the reply copy is not created on "Sent" folder!

I've tried to delete the outgoing server (SMTP) information of POP accounts at http://email.nokia.com , and in this way im using Nokia/SMTP server, but it didn't solve the problem and ive found that the the problem does not reside on my SMTP server.

Just one more thing, the native mail client of the phone creates a copy of the emails that I reply on "Sent" folder... using the same POP/SMTP settings!

(PS. I cant use IMAP on my POP accounts)

Re: Nokia Messaging - POP Reply

This POP Reply & Forward problem  seems to be a software bug, as I thought ... here's the thread I found:

/t5/Eseries-and-Communicators/Nokia-Messaging-BUG/m-p/677992/highlight/true#M66879

I'm using Nokia Messaging Build: 9.7.0.21 (main) on my E71-1. This is the last version of the software for my phone???

Nokia messaging does not satisfy me if I can't see my replys in POP accounts (my business accounts are POP)!!!!

Is someone from Nokia here?
