i have been using Nokia Messaging for some time but then was forced to choose SEVEN. Nokia Messaging desn't support OWA which is very important for me. Whereas SEVEN is real cool. they have a fantastic customer support and the application works quite well. i must say SEVEN really works well & the best is that its FREE.
unless and ofcourse Nokia improves itself drastically i guess there will be a few takers for Nokia messaging.
SEVEN would be useless to me.
IS it free.
Does not support HTML which makes OWA pretty useless since at work we get a LOT of HTML emails and Outlook 2003/2007 by default is set to HTML email when composing emails.
Also our OWA uses RSA SecureID token and without it even on a PC using IEv6 I cannot sync or even get connected. More financial companies look to RSA to secure email or remote desktop connections when offsite. And no ... Nokia VPN will not work with OWA on any email client I'm aware of including Mail for Exchange.
So for now ... Nokia Messaging is it. It hooks in well when I click on a weblink to email and its launched.
Mine is VERY stable for my region as well.

Are you in North America by chance? Or somewhere over the pond?
I'm able to get the account setup on email.nokia.com however not so much on the E71.
I'm in Canada.
I setup MSN on the previous version and viola I get the email on the msn account (only this nokia messaging email) stating I need to upgrade the app to use the new version. This was at 8AM EST and I got the latest version and its working ... no PC/Mac connection required ... and I did this over wlan at home while still in bed.
Ahhh, I'm in Australia using the Virgin Mobile (resold Optus) network.
I've been quite happy with the reliablity of how Nokia Messaging is actually working at the moment... Hopefully this keeps up (touch wood).

Quote : "Please dont compare this service with Blackberry. Blackberry is too advanced & too professional than NMS. Hence professionals in the world rely on Blackberry & not on Nokia messaging services" I agree with you.
RIM w/ blackberry more advanced & more reliable than nokia messaging.
Tired using NM & want to go for BB.

why on earth is only 1 month of mail synchronisation possible?
I have alot of older mails i read once in a while and need to have them in my phone.
Right now Im using profimail and its superior to nokia messaging. Fast, good looking and ALOT of settings.
The only reason im looking at nokia messaging is the better implentation with the symban s60 OS. being able to se the inbox on homescreen. Otherwise its sucks.
Why o Why!!!

I have the same issue, no HTML mail on my N97. Somehow I have version 1.2, build 10.0.1.16 (main). Nokia is advertising 1.1, 1.2 is not advertised anywhere. The Nokia messaging home advertises version .1.1, which supposedly includes HTML e-mail, or at least so it says.
At least it seems Nokia Messaging is different for different phone models.
Another question: Can I make Nokia Messaging integrate with the regular Messaging boxes? My regular Inbox (for SMS), my RoadSync box (for Exchange) are both there, but somehow Nokia Messaging needs to be separate. RoadSync is a nice example of how they could have done it. It really is not the same thing as the integrated messaging, yet you can find it in the one place.

The below may be wordy, but I hope the comparison will benefit you or give a signal to the guys at Nokia and Google. It is not meant to be complete.
Device: E71
Work account: Exchange
Private (or work) account: Gmail Apps
Simplified requirements:
1. Push mail with calendar and contact sync OTA for both accounts.
2. Accept a calendar invitation
3. Push mail, changing access points and timed sync (eg in case of being abroad, using wifi, etc)
Nokia MFE
1. Full email, calendar, contacts and tasks capability but only for Exchange.
2. One cannot copy text from one email into another (deal breaker)
Nokia Messaging
1. Web mail only.
2. Does not accept calendar invitations in Gmail (deal breaker)
3. Last version 1.1 on 1st of April 2009, announced that new features will not benefit E71.
4. Limited support
Google Gmail App
1. Does not accept calendar invitations in gmail (deal breaker)
Seven
1. Supports Gmail and Exchange (OWA), accepts calendar invitations in gmail and in OWA
2. Emails appear as being send from aaa@bbb.com, there is no First name, Last name (deal breaker)
3. No timed sync, it is online all the time (deal breaker).
4. Good support
Emoze
1. Works with both Gmail and Exchange/OWA. Does not accept calendar invitations in Gmail (deal breaker)
Note: To sync more than one account one has to pay.
(ProfiMail)
1. Better try it yourself. I tried it 6 months ago and found it lacking: email only, very rudimentary on OWA, ugly, but many supporters love it.
CONCLUSION: Forget making your Nokia E71 work like a Blackberry.
It does not matter if you are willing to study each app or work with several on your E71, the offerings are not complete.
The E71 does not get full support from Nokia or (push) email application vendors.
SUGGESTIVE REMARKS: The market is fractured and the main players are moving on...it is just the buyers that are stuck with highly marketed, but very limited phones and they will not fork out another $400-$500in current economic conditions.
* Nokia has moved on to newer Symbian models and the missing and new features for Nokia Messaging only work on those, if at all fixed.
Nokia forgets that al those who bought the E71 (many) will not upgrade easily to another limited device.
Are Nokia already dumping Symbian legacy users for MAEMO 5 based devices like the N900?
* GOOGLE APPS PREMIER EDITION costs $50 per year per user and replaces Exchange servers. But where is the Nokia app that can accept Gmail calendar invitations? Googles' focus is on the USA with iPhones, Blackberries, Windows Mobile and some Android phones.

Hi Andrew, thanks for the tip. Deleting the account on email.nokia.com, removing the app. & reinstalling did the trick! for me too on my E71, No built-in email client anymore... Thank you.

I might actually be going insane I'm not quite sure yet. I've had my N97 for about 3 weeks. I installed Nokia Email 1.2 10.0.1.16 (main) straight away and had html support, Friday it stopped and no matter what I do I cant get it back. I hadn't downloaded an update (although i have auto updates on so it may have updated without telling me). I've done two master resets, reinstalled the app, formatted all the drives and reinstalled and still no support. I've read some people saying that you can click on an email and select view in html but I have no such option. some have said open an email and go into tools options and change the setting there but again I have no access to tools settings whilst an email is open.
Am I insane or is anyone else having the same problem?
Cheers
