Nokia E63 and Gmail on the default nokia email client

Hi, I've been trying to setup Gmail through the default email client (not Nokia Email) but i'm unable to do so. I enter my email address and my password for Gmail but i dont see anything. It keeps saying "connecting..." but thats where it stops. nothing happens later on. Does this require any special data connection? I'm using GPRS to access the internet on my phone.

is your pop or imap enableled on the gmail app itself? in order to do this you will have to go into the gmail app on the computer and go into settings. see how your forwarding and pop/imap is set up if it is not enabled that might be the issue. other than that your phone is capable of getting the settings automatically. you used the settings wizard right ? to set this up. if you did not try using it, its really easy and i have not had a single issue getting gmail on my phones. i have mine in settings- utilities folder but it is possible yours is somewhere else.
