Hi All,
Need some help. I have this scenario where i managed to add a new Mail for Exchange account for the first time. Then I noticed all my email was stored in the phone memory. Then I decided to delete the Mail for Exchange profile under the Mfe folder in my Nokia N97.
Then I tried to add back another new Mail for Exchange for the same account, however once the phone has detected the settings, when I'm selecting the Mail for Exchange option (instead of POP3), I received the following message:
"you cannot add any more mailboxes of this type to your account"
FYI, I'm also installing the nokia email massaging application from email.nokia.com and having the hotmail account set up on the apps.
Can anybody help me to troubleshoot this?

Same here, sort of. I added an MfE account, but got some info wrong, and now it won't let me delete that one or create a new one. In fact, I can't see how to delete any email accounts on the phone - can that possibly be, that there is no delete function?
Also, after scanning the entire World Wide Web (!), I have found out that there is supposed to be an MFE installer in the phone, pre-stored. But it is not to be found on my N97. Nor can I find the MFE app itself, though like I say, it appeared to be there once, only to to vanish.
Adding another layer of trouble is the fact that I am on a Mac, for which there is virtually no support on the N97.
I can only wonder why Nokia, in all their Finnish wisdom, have managed to release such a clumsy, bug-ridden phone exactly when they face such slick competition from you know who and you know who else! What can they possibly be thinking? And to top it off, such lame technical support - on these web forums and in their own manual. It really is unbelievable that such an expensive and advanced phone/device does not have more muscle behind it.
Wake up Nokia!!!!

You can change the location where all messages are stored under Messaging.
Option > Settings > Other > Memory in use
Once set, all your messaging item, i.e. SMS, MMS, MfE, POP3, IMAP, will all be saved there.
Note, there is a bug for this setting, if you perform a Backup, you must immediately go back and reset this, otherwise it will default to C: and once new messages come it, you won't be able to switch back without losing messages except for MfE which will just resync.
MfE will only allow connection to one Exchange account per phone. I don't believe this is a MfE issue as every mobile Exchange accessing software I've used (Blackberry, MfE, RoadSync, WM) all only allow connection to a single Exchange server.
For Winslow, if you can't find your MfE app to change the settings, just go into Messaging.
Options > Mail for Exchange, it should then run the app and allow you to edit your settings.
Good luck.

zulslider,
You will need to download and install the Mail for Exchange client onto your device. This is separate from the Nokia Messaging Client.
Thx

Arien, Winslow,
You can delete mailboxes, at least for email and sync email. I took me more about 2 days to figure it out.
Try this:
At "Messaging" window
- Option -> Setting
- Choose the type of email
- Open up the "Mailboxes" (not mailboxes in use)
- touch "Option"
You have the delete there.
As for Mail for Exchange. You can delete or add since it just support 1 account at a time. Just change the credentials to your setting.

Perfect, that really worked, I deleted three accounts that I had set up during my 'trial and error' period of learning, as you do with all new phones. Thanks a lot. By the way I bought a new iphone 3gs, sent it back and bought this N97, so far so good. Cheers MH
