Hi,

I own a Nokia N8-00, I am unable to send text messages....it was being sent before..but all of a sudden messages started getting stuck in the outbox and are not being sent, I get a message in outbox..resend at "after 3 mins" ...the time keeps increasing.

I tried changing the message centers but still no change.

PLEASE HELP !!

No. I am using dOcOmO operator, India.. Also when I restart my phone, the first message always goes through leaving behind the others in the outbox.

What firmware version are you on? Try rebooting the phone by pressing and holding the power button for around 8 seconds until the phone buzzes 3 times in quick succession.

I tried rebooting, but it's still the same

I have the pr 1,1 installed.

Perhaps you could try restoring factory settings as follows:

Menu>Settings>Phone>Phone management>Factory settings>Restore

As a precaution you should backup your data just in case.

I will have to reInstall all the apps and games after that, isn't it ?

I have exactly the same problem, it started about a week ago. I have restored to factory settings and made sure the software is up to date, but to no avail.I cannot change my text message centre as it says it is set by the sim card. It seems to be fairly random as well, sometimes it will send a text, other times it wont. I am going to send my phone back to O2 as it is still under warranty and I have done everything I can think of.

No you are not since your phone is still under warranty. If restoring the settings don't work let your local Nokia Care Point have a look at it while it is still under warranty.

The thing is i had bought the phine when i had gone 4 vacation and Nokia care in india..well..they say its abraod handset ..and i have to pay even to update my software...

Ok i restored factory settings ..but still the same problem..what should i do now, hard reset ? but i've read online that after hard resets new problems emerge...what am i supposed to do now ? help :'(

The problem could be related to the operator or SIM card. Try to call the operator to see if they have any problems in ther network. In addition you can try to switch the phone to only use GSM or 3G network and see if that helps.

The problem was definitely with the cell, i hard resetted the phone using the three button technique..the messaging is all fine now. but now new problems have emerged, had lost nokia maps and store,

restored maps using the beta version 3.06 available at betalabs.nokia.com

still no luck with the store.

now whenever i restart my phone i am being asked the lock code. after i enter it just says invalid code.

for n8 users, facing the problem ,the pr1.2 update will mostly work.,if the problem stil exists after that check your sim card,try using a different sim, coz it is mostly seen that some sims , older maybe don't seem to read ,i.e the problem mainly occur while sending messages...,if so is the case u can get a replacement at the network centers..

Don't blame on sim/network, is because of this piece of sh*t, because of nokia. Same problem occurs on n95( my ex phone), and this will be the last nokia phone for me. I use the hard reset( the magically 3 buttons) and now, again, because of nokia and they "super intelligent" person who work there, my noikia ovi suite and other application won't work. I want my money back, but hell no, this thing is not possible.

and btw i have pr 1.2 and gues what problem i have again?

Exact same problem here! Was in the middle of a texting conversation, then all of a sudden it refused to send them and instead puts the directly into the Outbox. It keeps trying to send, but never actually sends. It's as if there's no signal, even though I can still receive texts and make calls...

I recently got N8 and when my text message were not going out I thought may be I had configured something wrong. But after going through comments on this thread its really hard to belive that Nokia shipped such a phone to market.

I was not able to send SMS from N8 while  using a SIM card that was of memory16KB... when I inserted a SIM whose memory was 32 KB from the same service provider in N8, it succeeded.

My solution for this problem : Change the SIM card (use one with memory 32KB or 64KB )

I got the same problem and got 'Message sending failed error'-message on my Nokia C3-1.

I discovered however, that I got this message repeatedly but ONLY when I tried to send a message to one particular contact! Sending to others was ok.

Both my Inbox and Outbox contained many messages to and from this contact (20 or so each).

After archiving all messages from both In- and Outbox everything worked fine again!

Before this I tried solutions suggested by others here, like Resetting Factory Settings etc. but to no avail.

I do think that Nokia should look into this matter and provide an adequate error-message if in/outbox limitations are causing this error.
