Something went wrong with my n97 when I get a text, the phone doesn't ring, or says you have a new message or light up or anything, I already hardreset it couple of times and restored the factory setting too, checked the profiles and everything, im going crazy here so any help would be really appreciated

Did you restore the Back-up back on to your phone after the Resets ?

The most probable reason for this is there is a very high no. of messages stored in your phone.. so try after deleting as many as possible.. from all the sub-folders of 'Messaging'...
