A few years back when messaging was in beta I had set-up an account using a couple of email addresses. 

That Nokia Messaging account was forgotten about, and now, I can't get back in.

Don't suggest the "forgot password" - because it does not work.

If I set-up  a new account, it will not let me add the addresses I want because they are on another account.  I can't access the accounts, because the "Forgot Password" link says the emails don't exist. 

I am in Nokia Messaging HELL!!!  

Why can't nokia swipe the accounts out? I called and they said they couldn't help!!!

Why can't you delete your mailbox? What phone do you have? Register again with a PC and use an e-mail alias.

I can't access the old account, so my emails are locked in there. 

I can't add my old emails to my new account, so my emails are useless.

Nokia has effectively blackballed me from using my own email accounts  with their service.

Delete the mailbox itself!!! Not the account. Uninstall Nokia messaging in App.Mgr. and reinstall later with a new account using an e-mail alias.

How do I delete the mailbox form an account I can't access??? 

I don't have the phone it was installed on any more

I can't add the OLD account to a NEW phone if I can't access it...  

am I not explaining it correctly?

Indeed. Call me stupid. You called Nokia and they couldn't help you. These accounts will not be accessable to anyone. You can still set up a mailbox without the use of Nokia Messaging. Consider Installing Profimail or Emoze.

Alternatively log onto http://email.nokia.com via a PC - (your log on details are your email address and password you first used to create the account)
Under "My subscription" section
Select "cancel" account
Log out 

You should then be able to create a new account.....

can't log in to the account via the phone or via PC... 

so got a bit of a dilemma...

don't really even understand why the account stopped working in the first place... it just suddenly stopped...

it's a great service, so would gladly keep on using it... if id just get it working again

Have you received emails from nokia messaging or your phone operator like these?

If so you may need to contact your operator and check they support the service....

that just might be the issue, and can recall recieving some message about it,  

gotta check with the operator tomorrow...

so ill be back tomorrow then...
