Hi, 

Got an E72 last week and went throug the e-mail setup and added a hotmail account and it worked fine. 

After three days or so the e-mails just stopped coming into the phone. When I checked my hotmail account on my PC I found a lot of new mails. 

I tried to delete the account and add it again. The result is an empty inbox. When I try to sync It says that it is connected to hotmail and that it is updating but I don´t get any e-mails to the phone. 

Any ideas what could have happend and how to solve this. 

I think I have changed all the settings and tried everyting and read a lot of threads on diffrent forums but I can´t find an answer.

I have the exact same problem it worked just fine. Phone would give me a signal when new mail arrived super handy. But yesterday it stopped working so i tried to synchronize that didnt do the trick and it kept asking me for my password. So i delete the mailbox and tried adding it again but somehow it wont connect to hotmail anymore it doesnt even load my old mail. When i open hotmail it shows an empty mail box.

Anyone know the solution ?

I have also the same problem with my E72 .I even updated the SW of the mobile but still face the same problem.

I concur with the same problem on my N86 8MP (RM-485) phone running Nokia Email.  Hotmail simply stopped working and would not connect to Hotmail.  The connected green circle is showing as grey. 

I have since switched to Emoze for my Hotmail push service.

I'm having the same problem, can not add a hotmail mail account on my E72. The link above doesn't really help. I can't seem to get around the "easy" setup wizard, and can't find how to set it up manually, where exactly is it?

I live in Dubai where I bought my E72 . had email working either on packet data or wifi for a month but suddenly last week it just stopped working completly, it says that its conectet and its sync but nothing is coming in or going out,.. "undeliverable "

Is there any way to fix the problem???

Same here. I think it's not our phones but the nokia  server it goes through.

Hundreds of people having the same problem.

No real help from support after 3 emails with them.

Wonder when nokia wakes up.

My three email accounts worked fine until 7 May (got the phone on 1 April ... significant perhaps). Since then I've not been able to access mail. My wifi connectivity also no longer working. Very, very irritating. Am now regretting not getting that iPhone or even a BB. All this E72 is good for is ... phoning and smsing.

Same happened to me. I did the following and the mail is working fine for me now.

Settings

Hotmail (My mail account)

1.

Account settings

Account information

Password (enter password)

Access point    (It was changed to 'none' for no reason.....I selected my access point)

2.

Mailbox settings

Username (enter username)

Hello men.

I use arrowmail but had exactly same prob...setup email fine, received email fine for about 6 months then bang!..yesterday stopped for no reason...common problem it seems. However, few months ago I had the equally common prob of not being able to send email either, and was told on forum to change 'outgoing email' security setting to 'On(StartTLS)' and it worked! presto I can send mail.

After hours of crying yesterday I remembered this just before I hit switch on hard reset! Did the same in 'incoming mail' settings (change security setting to 'On(StartTLS)') and it worked again!

I'm certainly no expert and have no idea WHY this works(!) but it worked for me, so give it a try before factory reset or deleting your account! Hope this helps.

Hello. Bought my first nokia phone for 9 days and already has several problems. Starting with what is most urgent. Already after 3-4 days disappeared suddenly able to receive mail from my hotmail account, but luckily came back later in the day! So on Friday I got an email from nokia with the text below. I have accordingly made ​​the following (but without result).

First I tried to follow the recipe that is in the mail as described below. I first went into hotmail via my computer and changed the password. Then I went into settings on the phone and changed the password there without success.

Then I tried to go into the settings in the phone and reset phone to factory mode 3-4 times then use the built-in wizard to configure my hotmail account and wait for the result without success.

I receive e-mails that are written below in Norwegian every day. When I go into the e-mail on mobile phone brings up the yellow / green circle in the corner which I interpret as if everything is ok with connecting to hotmail. But that is not receiving e-mail. Anybody can help me? Preferably by using the internal e-mail program.

For security reasons, Microsoft requires that you change your password with 365-day intervals for Windows Live Hotmail account. Once this is done you will again be able to receive e-mails.

Go to Options-Settings-Settings of the mailbox - Password and enter the password again. E-mail delivery to your phone will be resumed shortly thereafter.

I have this same problem - I set up gmail and it worked fine until 3 days ago - now I can't get any emails to my gmail account.

MfE works fine collecting all my business emails (YiPee) , but the thing won't even connect to gmail now..

i tried the fix suggested above - put in my email password but it (said) wouldn't  save because it tells me the server name ( em1x-105.lhr.messaging.nokia.com) is incorrect. Well, I never put the server name in there in the first instance...anyway, i went back into account settings to check it again (because I am not sure if I am insane now or not) and the passwork (*****) is still there...

Weird thing is..I can get all my gmail if i connect to my inbox through a saved bookmark - I just can't get it through the nokia messaging centre..LIKE IT SAYS IN THE B!@#@DY DIRECTIONS!!!!!

If anyone can help, I would be appreciative because Lord knows, now that the phone is sold, Nokia don't seem to give a rat's a!@se....

I have a similar problem. My email worked perfectly with 4 different accounts. Now it works fine for about 2 minutes and then it's completely dead.... If i try to open the email inbox it just does not open it.... The only one that is still working is the mail for exchange one. Please help me because i'm getting desperate. I tried to delete the mailaccounts but this only worked directly after i start up the phone. I set up my emailaccounts again, everything seems to work fine and then....the same problem!

Same thing happened to me Hotmail stopped syncing and deleted and recreated the account on phone and this did nothing, even restoring emails to the exact same date and time as it had previously stopped syncing. Much head scratching and internet digging and eventually worked it out...

The answer does not lie in the phone ... It seems it is to do with Nokia Email service required for hotmail synch.

Log in to your Nokia Email account at email.nokia.com and it will list the accounts one of which will be your hotmail ... Even if you have changed nothing go into the edit account settings option for this hotmail email address and reenter your hotmail password. This seems to reset the password correctly in the nokia email service and allows hotmail to re-sync with your phone.

Madness form Nokia but it seems to work .... Hope this may help somebody else who has the same problems

I've also tried to delete the Hotmail account and make it again from the beginning on email.nokia.com but it's not working yet, I still have an empty account on the phone.

I am also facing problem with gmail.I have upgraded to latest mail client. Installation is fine but not showing any message in Inbox.Tried all above suggestion but still not working.Pls help....

Yeah Hotmail(well windows live in my case but same thing) stopped today.

I tried to open the gateways so to speak by sending something to myself but it just says undeliverable and returns it.

Setup another account I don't use anymore but have forwarded and it works fine but no hotmail.

Tried the email.nokia.com thing but no change.

I used to get the password thing often so I updated that(through the phone and online) plus I logged into the hotmail webmail just to check that too but stil nothing.

Approach of Obri1 worked fine for hotmail  - thank you. So, just resetting passwords to hotmail boxes on email.nokia.com restored synch.
