I've just installed Nokia Mail, but when I email and attach pictures directly form the gallery on my Nokia E71, it uses the other (old) email client, and won't let me add Nokia Mail (Gmail) as the default email client?

Can anyone help?

Perform the following steps:

1. Press Menu.
2. Select Communication
3. Select Messaging
4. Select Options
5. Select Settings
6. Select Email

Verify the Default mailbox is set for Email

Hello. For me this option doesn't appear. Only "Windows Live" appear. I've Mail for Exchange installed. Any idea?

For me also, the default option doesn't let you select "Nokia Mail", only the older client.

What version of Nokia Messaging is installed on your devices?  Click on Options --> About within the client to find out.

I installed it last week.  Version 5.1, build 9.5.1.64 (main).

In other words, this is a fault with Nokia Mail that they haven't managed to solve yet.... ; )   We'll have to wait for an update or fix, I guess. 

Although, I'm probably just going to get the new iPhone 3GS - it just works.

Just for clarification purposes, when you take a picture in the gallery and choose "email", it should open Nokia Messaging. Depending on your client version and phone, you might be looking for "Intellisync" or your mailbox name. If you want to do this the other way, you can just add the photo as an attachment from Nokia Messaging, but it should work right out of the gallery.

I have used the gallery email feature with no problem up until I installed the nokia messaging client for which now there is no means to email the picture. I previously used my yahoo email account, no problem, I uninstalled it in lieu of the new nokia massaging and now its not available...any suggestion's?

for me it does not allow my gmail account to be the default email account. it always asks me to set up a new account. I do it but cannot set it up as the default email account. Because of this I cannot send photos from my email.
