I've been using MfE in it's installable versions for a couple of years now, on various devices.
We've just moved over to E72's at work from WinMo devices and we use a SBS 2003 SP2 Exchange box.
Normally, and this applies to all other devices (WinMo, E71, E63 & N95 with MfE) when an email is opened, only the first 2KB is downloaded. Scrolling to the bottom of the message will force it to download the rest of the email. this works fine for the above devices.
However, with the E72's embedded MfE application, I am faced with a "Fetching Content---" notification, followed by a pop up that says:
"Mail For Exchange
Security Policy that allows downloading HTML messages is disabled"
The Exchange installation on SBS2003, doesn't support HTML for OMA, so I don't know where the error is coming from, is it within the E72? Did I miss a setting somewhere?
Does anyone know a work around for this as at the moment, I have 8 devices that work fine for the first 2KB of an email, anything after that is stuck in the ether!

Have the same problems - Still haven't found a solution for it.
Any bright ideas?

I've no idea.. Hence the posting!
The admin logs on the phone don't help, there's nothing in them that relates to the problem.
So i'm not sure where to start..
I hope someone from the M4E or E-series team is reading this!

Same issue for me.
This is rediculous. Used to work on my iPhone.....
Nokia needs to sort this out ASAP.

I have posted this issue as well. Hope I get a fix soon. This is ridiculous...
maybe enough people post here, Nokia will read it.

The 'fix' is to upgrade to Exchange 2007.
The unoffical one is to use an alternative email client. Took me several hours to find a free one but if you register for the beta of Seven's email client it does work.

Been using it for a week now without any problems.
Proof that the phone can read email from Exchange 2003 but Nokia simply haven't programmed MfE to do it.

Thanks for the pointer. I'll take a look at it.
However, this is not a fix but a workaround.
What is clear is that Nokia have released an embedded version of MfE without fully testing it. Exchange2003 is still in extensive use globally and I suspect will remain so for some time yet.
Also, all the other, current releases of the MfE appliction for other devices, supplied through Nokia Business Software, support Exchange 2003 without problem.

I totally agree, Nokia needs to release an update to this phone ASAP and fix it properly.

Same issue here. There's also the obligation to use a device security phone of 6 digits minimum that is set on my company's Exchange 2003 server that MfE requests while Seven or Roadsync don't on the same phone. But that's not specific to E72 it was also the case with the downloadable version of MfE.
Now, I have used Seven and Roadsync but I prefer not to use it here because it doesn't let you specify a Destination (multiple access point) whereas MfE does. Also, Seven uses the OWA and that doesn't let you sync Tasks ufnortunately (at least not with Exchange 2003).

I have the same problem, and have just wasted an hour and a half of my life talking to the morons on the helpline who were 100% clueless.
any solutiuons would be gratefully received!

Thanks for the tip nhol. I will try the alternate software.
If it can work on an iPhone, it can work on a Nokia....Nokia needs to pull their fingers out of their **bleep** and do the right thing if this is to be considered a business device
Does Nokia think the average Punter knows if their Outlook Server is 03' or 07' ??? I automatically think it is a fault with the outdated OS...

I have the same problem on Nokia E75. It begin after software update for last version 201.12.01 ![]()

I wonder if Nokia really cares..???
I suspect that no one form Nokia reads this...
I've opened several support tickets now and not even had the courtesy of a response, other than the automated ones....

I have exactly the same problems and it is so infuriating. Also get an error message of 'Unable to sync. Contact administrator if problem persists' although my calendar is syncing no problems.
NOKIA - PLEASE FIX! I've only come back to Nokia after Samsung and HTC for the past three years and am let down by this.

I got the Nokia E72, had E51, MFE worked great on the old one. New one just does not work, got the ip address of exchange server, put my username and password, and nothing happens, says connected and nothing comes from Exchange Server.
No advanced settings as not a secure connection, wasted an hour on phone to Vadafone, then an hour with Nokia.
Do they care - I don't think so, well any ideas appreciated, downgraded back to E51 as it works!

I can also confirm this. Everything worked fine with E75 firmware version 110.48.125 but when I upgraded to latest 201.12.01 firmware I'm unable to read any mail. Just getting the "Security Policy that allows downloading HTML messages is disabled" error message. I think in this version the e-mail client was upgraded to the same version as E72.
Now I would have switched to iPhone (where the Exchange client have been working always perfectly) long time ago but I can't because I need to ensure that our users that are using Nokia are ok.
This is a complete nightmare. Not the first Nokia MfE problem and I'm afraid not the last. Nokia is marketing these phones as e-mail/business models. I'm ashamed to be Finnish.

HAVE THE SAME "SECURITY POLICY" PROBLEM AND ALSO THE OCCASIONAL SPACEBAR NOT WORKING ISSUE, NEED TO SWITCH OFF AND ON THE PHONE TO RECOVER.
FOR THE 1ST PROBLEM, ONE WORKAROUND IS TO FORWARD THE MESSAGE TO YOURSELF. IN THE NEW MESSAGE, THE ORIGINAL ONE SHOWS UP AS AN ATTACHMENT AND CAN BE DOWNLOADED AND VIEWED IN ITS ENTIRETY IN HTML FORMAT. RATHER COOL BUT THE PROCESS IS NOT PRETTY, NOKIA NEEDS TO FIX IT NO DOUBT. HOWEVER, IN THE PROCESS, I UNCOVERED A NEW PROBLEM, IT SEEMS EMAIL FORWARDING DOES NOT INCLUDE THE TEXTS THAT YOU TYPED ALONG WITH THE ATTACHED MESSAGE
THIS ONE NEEDS FURTHER VALIDATION THAT.
