E72 Emails with MailForExchange

Nokia Team,

I was pleasantly surprised but also disappointed by the E72 email client. I used to own an E71 (was very happy about it). The new email client is much better looking and has more bells and whistles. It could sort by dates, sender, priority, ....etc (all the normal stuff that an email client should have been able to sort by a few years back). And it has folders function as well. The looks are a lot cleaner.

However, I find the email client to be a lot less responsive. It takes half a second to open up a reply email window and the scrolling seems to be slower as well. It takes a full second to open up an email as well. Does anyone shares the same problem? I am using MailForExchange only.

In addition, for MS Exchange account, I could not download any of my email body (so only the title head is downloaded). It says "Security policy that allows downloading HTML messages is disabled". First, I don't think all my emails are in HTML format. Second, I didn't run into the same problem on my E71 nor my n97 mini.... what's wrong. This is definitely not a security setting issue managed by my IT admin.

So now, it seems to be more of a downgrade to me than an upgrade. For business use, efficiency is the key.... I can't standing the lag. Does anyone that can offer me a solution?  Please help.

Re: E72 Emails with MailForExchange

I have the same problem with you. The Nokia E72 will not allow users to uninstall Nokia Messaging including Mail for Exchange as it is part of the firmware. I have spoken to both Nokia and vodafone and yet they have failed to provide me with a solution. I have even asked them to show me how to uninstall mail for exchange but Nokia said that they don't know how to do so. Oh dear... Can you imagine Nokia careline informing customers that they don't know?

Re: E72 Emails with MailForExchange

You can not delete MailForExchange or Nokia Messaging from a E72 or E52.

It is part of the firmware.

No way to do it.

They were trying to get better stability and to stop people from constantly upgrading the mail program and creating new compatabilty issues.

Realy bad idea in my mind.

Re: E72 Emails with MailForExchange

Nokia better gets this MFE issue fix.  Seems like a lot of people are having problem.  At least give me an interim solution by allowing me to install previous version of MFE.  Otherwise, I am demanding a refund.  For me, it is a paper weight now.  And the word of mouth will spread.  I can't believe they mess up the E71 and give me an E72 with this kind of performance after a year an a half.  I used to be a loyal Nokia user (own E70, E71, N97 mini and E72) , and will be leaving this brand forever soon.  I will give Nokia a week.....

Re: E72 Emails with MailForExchange

Yes this sucks. I would like to get ride off the lock code, can't do that after once used MFE. My device is jamming every now and then, it did not do that before exchange. So I would like to try without exchange, if E72 would actually work some time without totally jamming. It's not nice to be forced to use a lock code, i would prefer to not keep company email. If I would know, that jamming is not related to MFE or lock code, no big deal

Re: E72 Emails with MailForExchange

Would someone know, what system file to delete to get rid of the lock code forcing MFE is setting? Other choise is to format, and can't restore full backup (as then most probably, lock code comes back). There should be some settings file, where this is stored. As lock code is not forced, before activating mail for exchange

Hi there!  :smileyhappy:

with regards to yur query about your Nokia E72 phone which is unable to retrieve your corporate email and gives you the error message 'security policy that allows downloading HTML messages is disabled.", you can contact your company IT department to disable it in the server for you to be allowed to retrieve this HTML messages.
