Hi,

Hopefully someone can help.  I have downloaded the nokia messenger application and set it up to work with my Ntlworld account.  Problems is that i can received emails without issue, when i attempt to send any emails, i get the following error 

500 - Delivery Status Notification Failure ...

I have also tried to set it up with yahoo mail and i get the same problem, three's email service is **bleep** and they want to charge me for every email sent, even though the advertising states "unlimited email" on the package that i purchased ...

Hello,

I had this exact problem a while back.  To resolve the issue, log into your Nokia Messaging account on http://email.nokia.com --> click "Edit settings" next to the affected email account(s) --> click "Change server settings" --> remove/delete the outgoing email server and outgoing server port --> click "Save" and that should fix the problem.

I am having a similiar problem with my hotmail, I can send messages but can not receive them. I deleted my account hotmail account last night and then reestablished it and it worked briefly this morning the problem reoccurred.

Many thanks bigdog13 for this solution, I have faced same problem and was quite desperate...

But a new problem occured then with my E71 : 

I can indeed send e-mails again but sent messages are not kept anymore in the corresponding file.

Did anyopne face the problem and find a solution to it ?

Bigdog 13 - a massive thank you, i've wasted hours searching forums and Nokia Discussions for the solution and you have provided it.

I had the dreaded Error 500 unable to send or sending failed etc on my N900 but tried your workthrough by logging into Nokia Messaging accounts and bingo
