Hi,

I have a brand new E7 configured with my corporate Exchange 2003 server account. E7 runs the most current SW P1.1 014.002.263.03.

Mail/calendar/contacts sync works but opening a received mail on the mail application takes ages. If I click on a message on the mail list it can take upto 30 seconds before the screen shows the message. During the time the phone freezes, even the hardware buttons are not responding.

The mails are received as push, I have tried also scheduled receiving, offline mode etc. but the speed is the same. Is anyone else seeing this and is there anything to be done. The speed of the mail application is so poor that it prevents me to use the E7 as the business phone.

Hi, did some more tests and the issue is that the message opening time gets to be very slow if the message has any attachment with it, 1kb jpg image is enough. If the message does not contain any attachment, the message opens within 4 seconds from clicking it but if having an attachment of any sort the time is near to 30 seconds.

ok I am having the same problem.  I thought I had turned downloading images OFF though?

Guys the new symbian anna software update and the latest version of software fixes these issues.

Sorry I have done all of the upgrades and it is still painfully slow.

I know 2 others with E7 phones, one of them is as bad as mine, the other is OK.

Have been suffering major delays in opening and relaying messages on my E7 , So going on a tip found on this forum ( thanks) . Actaully getting and OK to share message from one of my POP3 providers made me relaise what was going on. After a lot of effort , I did a factory reset and set up the e-mail again BUT declining the terms and conditions when I set up the accounts. ( it only aks onth epop 3 accounts , but seems to affect exchange if you accept it even once). I now have 1 exchange account and 3 x POP3 accounts all working at full speed. ( so far) It's crazy that you have to do this, what are Nokia thinking of , it seems they have an additonal server inthe loop if you accept their terms ! It took ages as I had to re install all of the Anna update as well, and setting up the exchane account can be a bit tricky as the error messages are rubbish. Now the only issue is that I cant save the setup using the config tool !! as it gives an error!! Support for this device is not good, I suspect Nokia have given up on Symbian ??

Perhaps you lik like it..at least until Nokia gets their mail client accordingly to easy setup without tricks like yours.
