Hi, Couple of days back I faced a very strance issue where the application stopped syncing emails. I called the help line here in India and they asked me to format the phone. All done and application re-installed still it was not working. Then suddenly it started working and was working fine till this afternoon.
Now again the sync is not working. Is there a problem with Nokia messaging server or it is the phone which is having this issue. Are you guys facing similar issues with the email sync lately.
Please help me resolve this issue.

Now it started syncing on its own. Is there any place where Nokia intimates users if there is any service down time? An email would be a great help. Atleaset it will help many of us from the efforts of removing and re-installing the application in desperate attempt to re-start the application.![]()

Email syncing on my E71 was working perfectly for several months until last night, and now it stopped. I have not changed any settings recently.
I think it is a problem with Nokia servers and I agree with you that formatting the phone is a desperate (and blind) attempt to "fix".
When I had sync problems in the past, selecting Go Offline then Go Online usually fixed the problem, but it's not working.
Where can we get status updates for Nokia Mail service?
The sync log shows only:
2010/7/8 9:35:43 Info Starting synchronization...
2010/7/8 9:36:28 Info Sync stopped.
It should at least log why it stopped.

Last time BlackBerry had a similar problem, it made the headlines on major newspapers around the world. I wonder how seriously Nokia will handle this problem, or if these mail sync problems will be another nail in Symbian's coffin.

Any solution to this? My E63 still can't get email. I can send mail but nothing is coming into the Inbox.

For me, the service was restored on the same day, a few (4?) hours later. A few weeks ago it stopped synchronizing again, but after choosing "Go Offline", then "Go Online" again (in Nokia Messaging) the problem was fixed.
