Automatic IMAP email retrieval not disconnecting on N95?

Hiya
Have setup an IMAP mailbox with a 15 minute auto mail retrieval on my N95. Unfortunately, after it's checked for new emails for the first time it never seems to disconnect from the server and constantly maintains the GPRS/3G connection, sucking battery big style.

Is there a way to get the phone to disconnect once it's checked for new emails? It seems to work this way when using pop, but not with imap.

Is this a bug, intentional or have I done something wrong?

Nice. Can it be turned off?

If you set the interval for checking mail to more than 30 minutes then it will connect and disconnect as you want. However, IMAP-IDLE gives you push email.

So if I set it to check every 30 minutes, it'll disconnect after checking? Or does it disconnect after something like 15 minutes?

IMAP-IDLE giving you push email is all nice and well, but unfortunately the N95's battery just isn't up to it!
