5228 Mail updating problem

Dear All, I've a problem with my Nokia 5228.

When I want to read my most recent e-mail on my gmail account, the phone starts the updating process with gmail inbox but it does NOT add the recent emails, it just shows the mail arrived till a certain date (now it's about 2 weeks ago, but as time is going by this point is fixed in the past and the mails shown are getting older and older!), I cannot read the most recent ones...

Is it a "time window" problem in the settings? Is it a "Max. Email quantity" problem in the settings?
What else? Please help me!

Now the only ay I have to read my email is going on the internet using my phone, accessing gmail website but everything is so annoying this way...
