editing voice instructions possible?

[ Edited ]

First second of instruction is lost because bluetooth->carstereo/->speakers causes a short delay. Only way is to insert a short silence at the beginning of every instruction.

I tried that using a wav-editor, but it's not working: no instruction heard at all.

Is there some way to do the trick?

Re: editing voice instructions possible?

Are you talking about 'Own Voice' instructions?    Problem is with those if you leave a space at the beginning or the end of recording your voice, it causes delays when linking up the phrases.  For example it can sound like this:   After (delay) 500 yards (delay) turn right.

I had to re record my own voice and stop the recordings immediately I finished recording each phrase so now there is no delay when linking each phrase.

I wish this: (delay) After 500 yards turn right.

I like the original (female) voice. Only want to insert a short silence before 'opening' phrases.

No can do unfortunately. You cannot amend the default recorded voices.

Re: editing voice instructions possible?

Hello vriesman,

I have never used Bluetooth through car speakers before- is the lag caused by the speakers having to mute the car audio?  The other users are correct (at least to my knowledge) that you cannot edit the default voice in the manner that you are describing.

Thank you,

One thing you can try (though this is a work-around that is only a rainmaker theory)- is use the own voice application. Obviously, you will not get the orignal English voice- but you could at least delay the recording of your - or someone elses' and account for the delay.

i think you are right that the lag is caused by connecting bluetooth en muting speakers. It takes a second or less. But enough not to hear the first instruction. Btw id rive Opel Meriva with built in CDR30 carradio + Parrot CK3100 bluetooth. When connected/paired there is no option to disable other audio than calls from bluetooth.
