Hi ricomoz
No apologies needed for your English, Is your N97 Mini running firmware v12.0.110?
Have you looked in Menu > Applications > Location > Positioning methods and checked which methods are selected and I might have disabled WiFi/Network to see if it makes any difference.

Hi scoobyman

yes my N97 Mini is running the last firmware v12.0.110 and in positioning methods is only checked GPS assisted, GPS integrated and based on the network.
5minutes ago i downgraded to ovi maps 3.03 and still having the same problem.

Could you catch the GPS signal from location>GPS data>positioning?
This should work with you. If not come here again.
And could you please let me know from where have you downloaded maps 3.03 for your N82? i also need it. Can you provide me with a link?

I'm also trying to get my Ovi map to work on N97 mini without SIM.
Checked only "Integrated GPS" -> No signal
Checked "Integrated GPS" & "A-GPS" -> No signal
Must it be use with data packet? If so, then how do we use it when we are overseas?
Can anybody pls help? Thanks.

Phones don't have sensitive GPS chips. This is why you wait.
Consider buying a cheaper USD $40-50 bluetooth GPS receiver like the Holux M-1000. Small size, great battery life (at least 15 hours) and very fast connections (around30 seconds) from cold start with super-sensitive reception often working indoors, too.
Disadvantages: carrying two units (albeit small)
Advantages: working, reliable GPS everywhere with no Assistance needed.

My will, to be done on this earth, as it is in heaven.
If I am connected to heaven thru my thoughts. T
then I hope I've got a good handle on my sub-concious . LOL
I seem to have a similar problem as these other users, hope I might get some help.
The nav sys has been working but now is not.
"Waing for Gps" hangs on indefinately
In positioning methods I have seen that the following are checked- GPS assisted, GPS integrated and based on the network
My firmware does say it is 11.0.045, it says no updates required when I try to update it.
I have just downloaded Aussie Maps 3.04. However maps was not working before this download either.
Some other info I've gleaned from my 97 which may ring a bell with someone I hope.
Type RM 555
11.0.045.236.02

Select ONLY Integrated GPS..
Go in an area open to sky..and open the Maps application.. If you are in a building / tunnel..then GPS will not work. You may have to wait upto 25-30 minutes to get the GPS Lock..i.e. the initial position finding.. If the area is surrounded by tall trees or highrise buildings..and / or the weather is cloudy / rainy, then the time taken is considerably longer and you will see the 'Waiting for GPS' message that much longer....

Just a thought or two, suggestion by farby to only enable integrated GPS is a good diagnostic tool but when using OVI Maps v3.04 you would expect four positioning methods to be enabled by default:
Assisted GPS, Integrated GPS, Network GPS & WiFi/Network GPS
When you say that your N97 Mini is up to date that is not strictly true as OVI Maps v3.06 is available for your device from the OVI Store which uses newer maps 00.02.41.123 and finally there is also v3.06 pre-release from Nokia Beta Labs which introduces new feature of being able to download maps directly using WLAN on your N97 Mini obviating need to utilise OVI Suite on PC.

ricomoz, I have the same problem you have, but with my N97.
It conected in seconds, but after the upgrade, it has a delay of 5 or 6 minutes or never catch the gps data.
Have you solved your problem? Do you have the solution?
