Unable to use SEARCH in Ovi Maps

I have recently installed the latest version of Ovi Maps on my Nokia X6 32GB. However, I am unable to use the search function from the application. The search function failied to launch without error message from Maps view; Drive> Set Destination view too.

Please advise what should I do? thanks!

Re: Unable to use SEARCH in Ovi Maps

@ken80ny

Is this with OVI Maps application "Online" or "Offline"?

If you updated from v3.04 to v3.06 presumably you downloaded latest 00.02.42.122 map data without issue?

If I've helped in any way, a click upon the white star at bottom right of screen would always be appreciated.

However if my answer also solves your problem clickingbelow it will benefit other users!

Re: Unable to use SEARCH in Ovi Maps

Doesnt the latest maps (3.06) have the search function removed from the app interface and only exists inside Maps and Drive? there's no search icon anymore.

Re: Unable to use SEARCH in Ovi Maps

@chanchan05,

On Ovi Maps 3.06 final release, "Search" is available on a button on the map interface. Have a look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJi4tDMUTo0

Re: Unable to use SEARCH in Ovi Maps

I have 3.06 on my phone. Search is available on the maps interface since like 3.03...The difference is, on the menu of the app, where you can see maps, check in, favorites, drive, etc, it used to have a "search"icon as well. Its removed on the latest 3.06....

Re: Unable to use SEARCH in Ovi Maps

I have the same problem as described on the first post. When I hit the Search button on the map (even when I try the Drive mode), nothing happens at all...I can not search anything...

Have you guys seen anythingh like that?

Re: Unable to use SEARCH in Ovi Maps

Sorry for the late response, I am trying to use SEARCH while in online and offline mode and I just could not alunche the search function where I can type and search. There is simply no response at all while pressing the "search" button on my screen.

I was already running on 3.06 beta and the map was downloaded earlier. However, I have done further troubleshooting as suggested by Nokia Care. I have tried the following with no avail:

i) Set phone to factory setting

ii) Remove Maps and update via Software Update

iii) Remove Maps and update via Ovi Suite

iv) Remove Maps and the downloaded maps in folder manager then update via Software Update

All attempts above failed correct the problem. I have not been able to search from Maps.

this is not about not getting any result from search. This is about not able to USE search function on Maps. Tapping Search simply did not bring out the search box for me to type and search.

I am well aware of this. The search link under Maps and Drive is NOT working as there is no search box presented when tapping the SEARCH link

you are experiencing the same issue as mine. May I know are you still seeing the problem? What is your phone model? Did you upgrade from version 3.04 previously?

Re: Unable to use SEARCH in Ovi Maps

@ken80ny

Is your 5800XM still running firmware version as in your signature?

Are you using this version of OVI Maps:http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/global/phones/software/ ovi_maps_installer_3.06_11wk23_b05_s60_5...
