This thread is to share some of the common issues that are being raised in relation to the new Ovi Maps releases. We will update this as information is received.
Currently split in to the following 3 sections, we hope this will help you all!
Compatibility
Which devices are compatible wit Ovi Maps 3.03?
As at the 7th January 2001:
*Please note that due to technical limitations, E66 and E71 have a version of Ovi Maps 3.03 which lacks certain additional features (notably Share Location and the premium services including Weather and Guides) found in the full version.
Which devices are compatible with Ovi Maps 3.04?
As at the 7th January 2011:
Which devices are compatible with Ovi Maps 3.06?

How can I get Free Navigation for my Nokia N97 or 5800 Xpress Music?
These models need a specific device software version to run the Ovi Maps 3.03 (and later) applications, please see below under 'Installation' for more information.
Are S40 devices compatible with Ovi Maps 3.03 and later?
Nokia will continue with its paid licence model for most existing S40 devices for the time being. The reason for this is that developing on different platforms takes different times. S60, the platform where Nokia is more agile, can try out new services with the Explore category devices. When developing for the Series 40 platform we have to take extreme focus on ease of use as Series 40 is the mass market platform. We are continuously developing the experiences across multiple platforms and are now taking the first steps on Series 40 side by introducing the first Series 40 devices with built-in GPS. We do not offer refunds for these users.
Free navigation is now available on the following S40 models, others will follow:
Please note that you cannot update the Maps application in S40 devices directly, updated versions of the Ovi Maps for S40 can only be delivered as part of a normal software update, see www.nokia.com/softwareupdates for more information on updating your phone software.
Is the N900 (running Maemo OS) compatible with Ovi Maps 3.03 and later?
No. As with S40 devices, the reason for this is that developing on different platforms takes different times. S60, the platform where Nokia is more agile, can try out new services with the Explore category devices.
I have an active license that I purchased prior to the release of Maps 3.03. Can I get a refund?
All existing licenses purchased on earlier versions of Ovi Maps and remain valid until they expire, and are non-refundable. After licenses expire, users can download the new application with free navigation if they have a supported device.
I have a rather new Nokia device but it is not compatible with Ovi Maps 3.03. Can I still get the navigation for free and if yes, how?
Nokia is aware of this and has considered these use cases. We are sorry for the users concerned by it. This kind of decision making is normal in modern software industries. Nokia is obliged to keep their roadmaps confidential.
Moving forward, Nokia is aiming to add more devices to the compatibility list for the Ovi Maps 3.03 and following releases. Users are advised to check for the compatibility list from time to time, as we are currently not yet able to provide any statements on what devices might become compatible in the future.
For users with non-compatible devices, the old Maps business and license model continues to apply, though prices for the navigation licences were reduced substantially - for example, a 12-month Drive Europe licence now costs €9.99 instead of €59.99. Nokia will always support & maintain the licensing systems and backend that are needed to support the users who are not able to update to the DRM free version of the application. Refunds are not offered to users in this scenario.

Issues
My Ovi Map 3.03 crashes when I synchronize favourites, try to share my location or sign in to the Ovi account. Is there something I can do about this?

Ovi Maps 3.03 Application Crashes even with required firmware (5800).

Why can't I see the weather service and guides?
These premium services will not appear on first start-up of Ovi Maps, and are only available if the application is online, from the Maps menu select the Settings icon then Internet>Connection>Online.
Ovi Maps application lost after hard-resetting N8
Users should not use the so-called "three fingered suicide" hard reset method in general device troubleshooting as this is intended primarily to start a 'dead' device that will not boot normally, and in the case of the N8 will remove some applications. If you find yourself in this situation, connect your N8 to Ovi Suite and run the software updates application.
Why is Ovi Maps not displaying any street names?
This can be caused if a certain system file is missing. Simply allow the Ovi Maps application to go online and the file will nee automatically redownloaded.
Traffic data is not present or out of date.
These problems can be caused by the date and time zone being incorrectly set in the device, which can prevent the data from the online service being incorrectly interpreted.
Why is map data deleted whilst updating to Ovi Maps 3.06?
Maps 3.06 uses a new map data version, the data used by Ovi Maps 3.04 is not compatible and so needs to be replaced. When you use Ovi Suite to install Ovi Maps 3.06, it will automatically download new versions of all maps and voices that you have installed. This can take some time depending on the speed of your internet connection, please be patient and do not disconnect the device from the PC until the whole process is complete.
