I haven't investigated this in any detail, but I notice it's possible to sync some map data to an Ovi Account.

If it is possible to sync favourites data, what you could do is sync your favourites from N97 to Ovi, and then from Ovi to N900 which would work ?

Answered in this thread - apparently you can transfer them by Bluetooth too !

You can mark all your favourites and send the landmarks.lmx to your N900 but I don't know how N900 is going to deal with them as per screenshot:http://i32.tinypic.com/w7fuop.jpg as there are no "favourites" in N900 OVI Maps just a database of previously visited places.

I mean precisely that but usually have to carry a 5230 in case I need to pinch it's battery so no worries.

Ah, so its still easier for the OP to just sync his n97 to maps.ovi.com and then sync his n900 to the same account.

It doesn't matter if Favourites & Routes are on maps.ovi.com because as far as N900 is concerned that's just where they are staying. N900 has only just become compatible with OVI Suite v2.2.245 so you can update your mapping data, but I don't know how magically getting your "Favourites" onto N900 ever started.

As stated by scoobyman, unfortunately you cannot synchronise the favourites via Ovi to the N900 device, this feature is not supported in N900.
